Should i try a move or stand pat? WHIR!

Postby hotdog22 » Thu Oct 08, 2009 4:11 am

I'm having some thoughts about trading for another RB, but am not sure if i should pull the trigger.

First of all my team (standard 12 team league: 6ptTD, no PPR, 1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1K 1DST)

QB: Cutler, Hasselbeck
RB: Brown, Tomlinson, Sproles, Lewis
WR: Andre Johnson, Smith (NY), Desean Jackson, Bowe, Cotchery
TE: Daniels
K: Lindell (changes on a week to week basis)
DST: Dolphins (changes on a week to week basis)

I'm doing ok right now (3-1), but i want to improve my team of course. My depth at receiver is a strong point, but i'd rather have a strong starting team week in week out of course. There are a lot of teams out there with bad WR-situations. Some guys i'm possibly targeting as a RB2 are Benson, Barber, Grant, maybe even Slaton. But in the back of my mind is the easy schedule LT/Sproles are facing along the way.

So basically, my questions are:

Would you try to go for a trade for a good RB or, since i have time being 3-1, wait the schedule out to see what LT/Sproles are gonna do?
Which player or package of players would you offer for a guy like Grant or Barber, knowing that the teams they're on are WR-needy?

Thanks, as always leave a link and WHIR!

Well you have a very solid team and I think that if you wanted to make a move for a rb you could get a decent rb for one of your wr's. It also depends on the teams that have Grant, Barber, etc., if they have a need for a wr. I think I would look to keep your roster intact right now and see how LT comes out of the bye week. He didn't play much last week because they passed so much, so he should be close to 100% and with a easy schedule he could post some quality numbers. Good luck.

I would actually trade off Cotchery at this point bc who knows what Edwards is gonna do on that O line, and since you have depth with your other 4 Wideouts, Grant would be a great addition. Id steer clear of Barber for now until he has a couple more games under his belt, that broseph is i-n-j-u-r-y prone.

If you got a min
