Are there any good fantasy football websites where you can subscribe to receive instantaneous email alerts when breaking news happens? I don't mean the little stuff like "Kevin Boss did not practice today". I mean the important stuff that could actually make a difference in your season. For example, when James Davis was ruled out for the season, I could have snatched up Harrison before anyone else in our league.
I don't have time to check the fantasy sites several times an hour, hoping to stumble on some breaking news. And we use CBS, which has an email alert feature, but it isn't instantaneous (it goes out at regular intervals each day). Besides, they are too slow on their news, anyway.

Hence, the text alerts to let you know when breaking news is occurring. I mean, I had dropped Maroney in a league, and not that I feel he will all of a sudden become a player of value, but I went back and grabbed him after I heard Taylor's seemingly minor injury was turning into surgery. Maybe Maroney comes around (probably not) or maybe I can package him to the Taylor owner. Point is I was out and about and never would have found out the Taylor news until much much later. Text alerts can be useful every now and again.

Isn't that the point of the question (how to stay more up-to-date)? This is a great way to be up-to-date. I'm not sure how you could be more up-to-date than this, unless you personally know an insider on every team.

I sit at a computer all day at the office, so I check sites pretty often, in downtime or free time. I was upset as in it gives my competitors more of advantage by not having to actively pursue information.

Ya, know?
You mean it gives your competitors more of an advantage then you sitting in front of a computer all day while they can't Seems like a fair objection to me
Ya, I love having a advantage, by being in front of a computer for 8 hours a day. Just sad (not a objection), that I lose this advantage? Why is everyone nit-picking?
