I am desperate to upgrade my QB2 spot, as I currently have Trent Edwards there and, in my league, we must start 2 QBs every single week. So, I've been looking around at potential trade options. My biggest trade chips are my running backs and Chris Johnson is my top back. Sadly, I'm thinking that he might have to go for me to get a very good QB and shore up that starting QB2 spot.
What I'm thinking about possibly proposing is a 2-for-2 deal where I would be giving up Chris Johnson & Trent Edwards and would receive Ray Rice and Ben Roethlisberger.
I would hate to give up Chris Johnson but Roethlisberger would be a big upgrade over Edwards and, with Tom Brady, I would feel that I might have the best starting QB combo in my league. I also tend to feel that I have the RB depth to do this trade, with Brandon Jacobs, Pierre Thomas, Tomlinson, Mendenhall, etc. and Ray Rice is a useful RB himself too.
What do you guys think of that trade in a non-keeper league? Should I offer it or look for other ways to improve my QB2 situation?
Here is what my team currently looks like:
QB: T. Brady
QB. T. Edwards
RB: C. Johnson
RB: P. Thomas
WR: V. Jackson
WR: D. Jackson
TE: C. Cooley
WR/TE: P. Harvin
WR/RB: B. Jacobs
K. N. Rackers
DEF: Washington
Bench:
L. Tomlinson (RB)
D. Sproles (RB)
A. Bradshaw (RB)
R. Mendenhall (RB)
M. Sims-Walker (WR)
TJ Houshmanzadeh (WR)
Thanks for the help!
