I put up a notice that Favre and/or any of my WRs were up for sale, and I was looking to improve at RB and/or TE. One guy contacts me with interest in Ocho. What do you think would be a reasonable place to start? This is a 14-team Yahoo H2H league - pretty standard scoring. We start: QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, TE, K, DEF.
My team: QB: Big Ben, Favre RB: Forte, Parker, Washington, Donald Brown, Coffee WR: Wayne, Bowe, Ochocinco, Steve Smith (NYG), Burleson TE: Olsen K: Vinatieri DEF: Buffalo
His team: QB: Brady, Anderson RB: Gore, Rice, Julius Jones, Jamal Lewis WR: TJ Houss, Breaston, Crayton, Knox, Stuckey TE: Tony Gonzalez K: Kaeding, Hauschka DEF: Baltimore
As you can see, I don't have a dependable starter past Forte. Though it's a 14-team league, and everyone's hurting in some fashion. Lewis or Jones wouldn't be enough - that would just be adding more questionable guys. Rice ... eh, he would certainly become my RB2. But Ocho's been good, and Rice gets all his TDs stolen by McGahee. My gut tells me Ocho is worth more than Rice. With Coffee already on board, I'd welcome Gore with open arms. But despite Gore's injury, offering Ocho for Gore sounds like a low-ball ... doesn't it? I don't want to come across as sounding insulting.
What do you think? Start off with any of the straight-up offers (Ocho-Gore, Ocho-Rice)? Sweeten up the Ocho-Rice offer with more value from him, adding Olsen-Gonzalez or Buffalo-Baltimore? Sweeten up the Ocho-Gore offer with more value from me, like adding Favre-Anderson, Washington or Brown (with him dropping Stuckey or his backup kicker, which he won't need anymore by the time the trade goes through), or maybe both of those? Maybe there's something else.

Ray Rice would be a perfect straight up move to make. If you acn get a starting NFL RB for Ocho Cinco I'd make the move. "Johnson" has always been a boom or bust guy and you'd like a reliable week to week guy and Rice is just that. A horse (think Thomas Jones before this year).
thanks for your response on mine. I'm going to have to agree with the guy above me and say a Rice for Ocho Cinco trade straight up would be a great exchange for you. You've got the depth at WR and are starved at RB. Go for the straight up swap! Goodluck
Of course, not getting Gore. But out of Rice, Julius Jones and Jamal Lewis, you're going from good to annoying to forgetaboutit. So, Rice would obviously be the best, and think it's fair. He might reject it and try and give you Julius Jones in which case you'll say no.
I actually like Rice over Gore. Rice has a SICKENINGLY easy schedule and Gore is no guarantee to come back healthy. Ocho has his value inflated by those scores, but he's catching a very low percentage of his targets. I snap up rice.
Or if you want to get more creative propose Ocho, Olsen, and Parker for Tony G and Ray Rice. Stress that he isn't losing much if anything from Parker to Rice, and he basically gets Ocho and an upside TE for Tony. (Obviously i feel rice is a big upgrade over Parker) Can't hurt to offer, and it leaves you room to counter with all the moving parts. Straight up trades I have found are rarely countered, as they're usually too focused and often there are only one or two straight up deals to be made between 2 rosters.
