I've seen the commercial plenty of times where the footballs come out of the machine and then the arm stamps UFL on them... the commercial is supremely uninformative.

XFL anyone? I wonder whatever happend to He Hate Me.

I missed the XFL. The L.A. Xtreme won the only XFL title in league history, all thanks to Tommy Maddox.

i think i had him on my XFL fantasy team...or maybe it was Jim Druckenmiller

See, you guys jest, but Maddox made a very successful bounce back to the NFL on the back of that title win, and He Hate Me also made the transition to the NFL (albeit less successfully). Neither player had much chance of doing so at that stage of their careers without some stage to showcase their skills, so the XFL was a godsend for them.

The NFL always has gems fall through the cracks of the draft system, guys who had tremendous talent but didn`t play for a big enough school, or guys who were hurt too late in their college career to get on the draft radar, etc. Kurt Warner anyone?

The NFL could use another minor league to pick up the slack IMO.

I forgot all about this. Was talking to Terrence Whitehead a couple months ago and he was pretty excited about playing again. He said he would be playing for SF or LV.

Now I need to look... hope he's doing well...

There's a game on HDNet now. Recognized a couple names, Simeon Rice, whats-his-name Toefield. If there weren't a bunch of college games on I might have watched a bit of it. As already stated, it's tough to offer up a product that is similar to other more popular products at the exact same time those other products are on.

Maybe the gov will decide the NFL is a monopoly and break it up
