Beanie Wells worth a pickup? WHIR

Postby pbfrk4life » Fri Oct 09, 2009 5:20 pm

Beanie Wells is on my wire this week and i have a feeling this is going to be his break out game. My only problem is im not sure if i should drop any of my players for him.

CBS Sports line league
6pts for any TD reception, pass, run
No PPR

QB: Drew Brees, Brett Favre
RB: Ledainian Tomlinson, Pierre Thomas, Glenn Coffee, Reshard Mendenhall
WR: Randy Moss, T.O., Devery Henderson, Sidney Rice, Hakeem Nicks
TE: Vernon Davis
K: Kris Brown
Def: Dolphins

I know im dropping Coffee after this week but i think if Beanie is worth a pickup it should be done before playing houston.

Im just not sold on LT as a starting rb so im stocking up...but the same can be said for my wrs not having a solid wr3. Or should i spend my spots on handcuffs like sproles and bell?

Hakeem Nicks seems like the one to drop but the giants want him to be a big part of their offense. Due to me not being stable at wr 3 its hard to drop potential talent.

I dropped Reggie Bush for Beanie last night and am actually starting him over Ced benson and Jonathon Stewart sunday(until i come to my senses). RB's go off against the texans and i don't see Hightower being the back that will so that. But for people that might not want to reach as far as I am, try to decide.. Do I want potential on my rb bench? or wr bench? this will help you. Otherwise, maybe try making a trade to the Gore owner for Coffee for wr then nicks might be more expendable. Good luck.

I'd pick him up for sure, I just grabbed him in my league as well. Tough call on who you want to drop though. If you think that Gore won't get hurt again, then I'd drop Coffee for Wells, but I think I'd drop Nicks over him...just in case b/c Gore is pretty injury prone

And like the previous poster said, you can try to ship Coffee to the Gore owner as well

thanks for helping with mine

I wouldn't drop Coffee until you see Gore take carries away from him. You never know when there will be a setback. I'd sooner drop Nicks than Coffee now. That said, with your team, I say pass on Wells.

+1. My initial thought was Coffee tho. Nicks could surprise, but in NY he has way too many competitors for touches, so I may just cut ties with Nicks and try dealing Coffee to the Gore owner with Henderson or Rice for a WR upgrade, but yes get Beanie!
