16 Team League
Standard Yardage + TD Scoring
No PPR
WR/TE Combined, no TE required

QB - Jay Cutler
QB - Kerry Collins
RB - Adrian Peterson
RB - Ray Rice
RB - Ahmad Bradshaw
RB - Jerome Harrison
RB - Chester Taylor
WR - Steve Smith (Carolina)
WR - Dallas Clark (WR/TE COMBINED)
WR - Earl Bennett
WR - Hakeem Nicks
WR - Jermichael Finley (WR/TE COMBINED)
PK - Steven Haucshka
DST - Dallas Cowboys

My Achilles heal thus far has been my WR3 spot. It has killed me. I have some interesting offers on the table. Two include me dealing Ray Rice for a serious upgrade to my WR corps.

Rice and Nicks/Bennett/Finley
for
Anquan Boldin

or

Rice and Nicks/Bennett/Finley
for
Santonio Holmes

Another option is to trade Jerome Harrison or Ahmad Bradshaw. In my opinion, this keeps my RB corps stronger due to the fact that I don't have to get rid of Ray Rice, whom many people have differing opinions of but I believe he is a more than solid RB2. He is actually on pace for 1700 yards from scrimmage (but only 4 TD due to McGahee turning into Lendale White version 2.0).

Harrison/Bradshaw and Nicks/Bennett/Finley
for
Kevin Walter

What do you guys think? Steve Smith isn't himself this year. That's mainly due to Jake Delhomme's poor QB play and questionable play calling form the sidelines. I still have faith that he will put up average Steve Smith type numbers from this point on but I'm not expecting anything spectacular. However, if he's going to keep struggling I feel more inclined to make the move for either Boldin or Holmes. This obviously means that I have to give up Ray Rice, leaving my RB2 spot to be manned by either Jerome Harrison or Ahmad Bradshaw. That's a risky maneuver. However, both Bradshaw and Harrison have shown in the first four weeks of the season that they are the most talented runners on their teams, regardless of what the depth charts say. While they each play behind a bigger RB (Jacobs and Lewis) who will most likely see all the goal line work, they both are one injury away from becoming full time starters. Those injuries aren't something that will require a shooting star either; Jacobs gets hurt every year due to the fact that he's a big target, runs upright, and looks for contact. Meanwhile, Jamal Lewis is an old, worn down, battle tested RB whose best days are long gone in Baltimore. He may lose his job to Harrison due to performance if not injury. It's a really tough call. At the end of the day, the question becomes: Which lineup looks better on paper???

Cutler
Peterson
Rice
Smith
Clark
Walter

or

Cutler
Peterson
Bradshaw/Harrison
Smith
Clark
Holmes/Boldin

Trade Rice and Bennet for Boldin/Holmes. That's what I would do. I think Boldin and Holmes are about the same so not sure which way to lean on that one. I would have to check the schedules for a tie breaker.

How many RBs do you start? If it is more than 2, I would not do a trade, otherwise I would do Rice for Holmes. Chances are you'll be able to fill in RB2 with one of Bradshaw/Harrison/Taylor each week, but if you have to start 2 of them, then it gets dicey.

Please help with my trade offer.

Got to admit I don't like those trades unless your giving up a TE.
I don't like using TEs unless the league uses TEs. I mean that deflates their value to the point where it makes them hardly rosterable unless its a top option or a guy like Gonzalez/Clark.

A best TE is equivilent to an Ok WR-2 or high end WR-3 and thats at best.

See, I'd rather have decent WRs that could surprise you. If you can give up Jermichael Finley and get a WR upgrade I'd be all over that.

What nut would actually trade for a TE that's not even a top 3 option?

That makes about as much as sense. Its like being a three legged cat trying to bury turds on a frozen pond.
