Who do I drop?

Postby Paulyedward » Sat Oct 10, 2009 12:22 am

Need some advice please. I have a solid team, 3-1, high score 3 out 4 weeks. I have SF for defense and plan on starting them this week against Atl (my expectations are tempered) They are on bye next week, and quite honestly I don't feel comfortable keeping them for rest of season. However, I don't want to drop them right now, they are #1 in points in my league on Def even though their numbers are skewed because of last week monster game. With that said, I see someone dropped GB Def this week, so they are available. I am considering picking them up, they would be a sweet bye week fill-in next week against dreadful Rams. In fact they play Clev the following week and KC in 3 weeks. I may end up keeping them and dropping SF altogether in near future. However my roster is solid and there really aren't any guys I want to drop to pick up a 2nd Def. I don't need 2 tight ends, but I don't want to drop either this week, both have nice matchups (Heath Miller and Owen Daniels). Here is my roster, anyone I should drop for GB Def before Sunday's games?

QB-P Manning, Garrard
RB- McGahee, Turner, D Brown, Ricky Williams
WR- S Smith (Giants), Fitzgerald, Sims-Walker, S Moss
TE - Daniels, Heath Miller
K-Scobee
Def-SF

I'm not sure of your scoring format for DST, but if there isn't anyone on your roster that you want to drop for a second DST, then don't. You could drop SF and pick up GB after their bye week. If you ask me, DST's are often a crapshoot and not worth keeping 2 on your roster. If you're really wanting to pick up GB for this week, I'd drop Ricky or Heath Miller. Not sure how many teams are in your league, but surely there are RB similar to Williams available on the WW.

Help with mine please:

Let me clarify, my whole dilemma is that GB will not be available if I don't get them this week. I guarantee someone will want them when they see the matchup against Rams. They just don't want to pick them up this week because they are on bye. Seriously they play 3 of the worst offenses in NFl over next 4 weeks, that is worth considering.

FYI*** Scoring for our Def is fairly standard. No points for yards against. SF got me 39 points last week, our league record!

Owen Daniels is more consistant week to week. Heath is more of a boom or bust time of guy. I'd dump him for G. Bay D now.
