Our flex spot allows for any offensive player, so normally I'll start my 2nd QB. Therefore, I normally will bench my 3rd RB each week. Right now that's Moreno, but I could pick up Benson via free agency (our roster limits mean guys like Benson are FAs), or I could trade Moreno for Ray Rice, whose owner is willing to trade.
So do I hang on to Moreno, who has upside? Or should I drop him for Benson, who seems to be the real deal? Or trade for Rice, who seems to be emerging as the guy in Baltimore?
Thanks, and please leave a link so I can return the favor!
Passing TDs = 4 All other TDs = 6 100 yd rushing bonus = 4 PPR All other basic scoring
If I were you, I'd go pick up Benson IMMEDIATELY. I understand why a lot of fantasy owners are afraid to embrace him as one of the elite fantasy RBs because of his past, but let's face it: After 5 games, Benson leads the league in rushing depite three of those games being against DEN, PIT, and BAL... three of the best run defenses in the league. He's been averaging 97.4 yards/game and 0.6 TDs/game which in most leagues means he's averaging 13.3 points per week. No question in my mind: get Benson ASAP and start him every week.
Also, here is the Bengals' schedule for the all important weeks 15 and 16:
Week 15: @ San Diego (weak run defense) Week 16: vs. KC
That is a tough decision. I do like Benson more than I really want to this season. Under normal circumstances where you could keep more RB's, I would say picking him up is a no brainer. But, with 1/2 pt ppr, Rice makes an intriguing option (23 catches for 208 yds and a TD on the year). I would say if the trade is a sure thing, you might be well served to diversify your RB corps with a pass catching back (since Cutler apparently has no need to dump the ball off to Forte as Orton did).
you have to go with benson, way more upside as you look at schedule matchups. He has emerges as a guy that can put in the worload for an entire game. I vote benson. g luck
Benson is sharing carries with no one. Rice is still getting TDs stolen down in goaline situations. Plus, with the Bengals winning again, Benson has the most upside. Look at the points he's been putting up!
I would pick up Benson as a free agent and most likely the other guy will drop R.Rice to pick up Moreno. So depending on what happens you could always (hopefully) drop Benson for Rice at a later date?
If I had to choose 1 as of right now I like Rice but, he has a tough matchup this w/e. That is why I would wait to see how he does against a stout run D.
