Need solid advice - Big Risk but big upside!!!

Postby ufbrandon » Mon Oct 12, 2009 5:45 pm

Hello all:

I am a rookie to fantasy football that could use some fast and solid advice from you pros.

I have two good WR's currently, Roddy White and Ochocinco. I have concerns over my RB2, although this week is probably the one that will impact me the most since Forte is on bye.

I am in a fairly standard league, with 6 points for rushing / receiving touchdowns, and 1 point per 10 yards rushing / receiving. For quarterbacks, we get 1 point for every 25 yards passing and 4 points per touchdown.

However, we start 2 quarterbacks, 3 WR, and 2 RB. Thus, QB's are at a premium, as are quality WR's.

We also get 1 point per 30 return yards and 6 points for return touchdowns.

I am being offered Brandon Jacobs and Brett Farve for Percy Harvin. The person i am trading with is QB heavy so he is willing to dump Farve and also has other solid running backs. He is lacking in WR's and wants Harvin.

He also wants Harvin because of the potential return points.

Do I give up Harvin to strengthen my RB and Quarterback situation?

I made some good pickups (I think) with Sammy Morris and Miles Austin recently, and I can probably drop Matthew Stafford to get Massaquoi (he is still available on waivers!).

I am currently 4-0 in my league (and losing by 20 points going into tonight's game, so possibly 4-1) so I don't want to screw up a good thing if you think I am fine. But I have a feeling that Jacobs could start to light it up more, and having Farve as my backup (especialy for Schaub's bye week) or if one of my QB's gets hurt seems to be a good choice.

Please let me know ASAP.

Thank a lot!!

I think you can find an adequate WR3 on the waiver wire. Harvin is hit or miss. Do it.

Harvin for Jacobs would be a good trade, but if you get Favre on top in a two-start QB league, definitely do it! Schaub/Rodgers is pretty strong though.

Help on mine? viewtopic.php?f=18&t=454537
