Getting Andre Johnson. WHIR

Postby Bloody Nipples » Mon Oct 12, 2009 7:47 pm

After Bradshaw's great week, I put him up for trade hoping to get some good bites. I did. Another owner is willing to part with Andre Johnson. Here's his offer:

My Bradshaw and Gates

for

His Andre Johnson and Olsen or Shiancoe (my choice)

I'd be taking a big hit at TE, but potentially getting a big upgrade at the flex position. The reason I am hesitating is that I really like Bradshaw. I think he's an incredible runner, and should be a consistently good backup with the potential to blow up like this week at any time. So should I do it? If so, should I take Olsen or Shiancoe.

Alternatively, I've offered him Bradshaw and Choice for Johnson. He's considering it. I would love to do this one if he agrees. Any reason I shouldn't?

My team:
12 team league, non PPR, standard scoring and roster
Rodgers, Orton
Calvin Johnson, Vincent Jackson, Breaston, Berrian
Turner, Rice, Ahmad Bradshaw, Choice, Jamal Lewis
Gates, Marcedes Lewis (dropping soon)
Prater
Denver, Washington

I agree..bradshaw is ALOT more explosive than jacobs and should be starting IMO...anyway..I'd do it...the points you'll get from johnson will cover what gates would've gotten

i would do it
andre is a complete and utter stud of a football player
BJacobs will still get a lot more touches and although bradshaw may be a better runner i dont know how many 110 yard/ 2td day ahmad will get..
and also olsen is no slouch at TE
i would do it

I like Bradshaw quite a bit too but I think you have to do the deal. The TE position is deep enough that trading away Gates isnt as much of a problem as it would have been a few years ago.

I'd say you should do it. Andre is arguably the number 1 receiver in football (both fantasy and real football) right now. Bradshaw isn't going to duplicate his success last week. Olsen will come back, so you are buying him low.

thanks for your help. i think you have to do this deal. Specially with Calvin Johnson injured somewhat, Andre Johnson is a must. you're not losing TOO much at TE and i think you have enough talent at RB to be ok. I'd take Shiancoe.

I'd take it, as others have said AJ will more than make up for what you lose with Gates, I like Olsen a little better, less receiving options in Chicago so Olsen is more of a primary option.

Thanks for the help guys.

I just received word from the other owner. He's agreed to do the Bradshaw/Gates deal, but he's also put another one on the table:

His Welker for my Bradshaw.

Is that a better deal than the Andre deal?

nope. I'd take the AJ deal way better. TE'S has 2 types of roles. Blocking and receiving so as much as great gates is, he will have his off days just blocking. so its a toss up for TE's. but you'll be getting the top wr in the league so i'd DEFINATELY do it.
