Should I look 4 a trade? (will reply)

Postby Icemanzdoinwork » Tue Oct 13, 2009 1:12 am

12 man standard yahoo
4-1
Right now my team consists of
Start 1 qb 3 wr 2 rb 1 te 1 k 1 def

QB Schuab/Orton
Rb Pierre Thomas/C. Benson/R. Williams/Shonn Greene ( I figured, I could sit on him since I don't need help here. With a Jones injury or some touches he could become their back. Hopefully Jones just stops moving the ball, which I believe is inevitable. )
WR Fitz/Ward/............TO/A gonzalez (making some waiver moves any suggestions???)
TE Olsen/Heap (who should I drop?)
K Tynes
Def Phili (dropped Denver because of playoffs and schedule)

At the beginning of the season my RB situation was very questionable. That has drastically changed :). Thomas is a no trade and NO could have the best total package offense in the league.

I have been looking for trades for Benson even though I really like him. I believe if I added another goooood wr I could win with ricky W as #2. What should I receive for Benson? He has proven himself worthy after the Pitt and Baltimore game. What wr's should I look for in a trade? Should I even trade at all? My schedule is pretty good. I only lost because of mario manninghams huge game. I really don't see me losing a game until week 9-10 and I'm favored in 9. It's a 3 way tie for first now at 4-1 and I should have first locked by week 7. Is this a smart move or am I looking too far ahead.

Hard time trusting Ricky "Cheech" Williams and Pierre Thomas. I'd love for you to go grab a more proven and valuable back.

Plus, I would not dare trade Benson you need him.

Don't let good starts cloud your judgement.

You do have a couple of drop candidates. Post FAs.

FA's are horrible and won't help my team out. Jamal Lewis and it gets worst from there lol.

Your right, but Jamal Lewis certainly can surprise us when were about to give up on him and then he busts out a few big games. Hate to say it, I love Shonn Greene like you do, BUT Jamal is a starter and the rest of your RB core is shaky to keep up the production they are. Pierre Thomas reminds me of a young Deuce and that gives you a RB-2. Benson if he's up to his potential can be a low end #1 RB. But after that...eh, and that's saying a lot.

Lewis will help you a lot more in a pinch than Greene will. Definitely make that switch if this is a redraft. If its a keeper/dynasty then hang onto greene drop gonzalez for lewis so long as he's starting. He at least gives you another STARTING rb to have in case.

Would you mind posting FAs anyway.

What is .... .... do you have only 4 WR or are those ______ number of free spots?

I also have massaquoi, but I'm wondering who to drop him for Jeremy Macalin or Josh morgan. I'm 9th in Waivers, so I doubt I get either Morgan, Macalin, or Lewis. You can't tell me Lewis is a better option then my RB's. That is quite absurd in my opinion. He is old and on a horrible team. A team which will be trailing most games and trying to air it out to catch up. Where as NO will be winning most games and trying to run the clock out.

L. White
D Mcfadden
Donnie Avery
Lav Coles
Sammy Morris
Andre Caldwell
Teddy Ginn ( actually didnt see him until I looked )
Josh Morgan
Jeremey Macalin
Jamal Lewis

I was considering Josh Morgan. He has shown steady improvement on a decent team whose offense is improving. Once Gore gets back he could be a threat and his playoff schedule is golden. SF plays STL and DET their last two games of the season.

I guess this week is the real test for PT Cruiser. A huge game for him against the giants and all naysayers jump on the bandwagon.

Ricky has avgd 14 pts in my league the last 3 games and he's only played 1 of them for me. I guess the cheech shot was at him smoking pot, but the guy is studying to be a brain surgeon and looks like he will make it : /.

I understand you looking ahead, but I think you may be driving the car too far down the road. I wouldnt let go of Benson in any leagues at this point. I would leave everything as is, wait for the Waiver period to be over, if you don't get a jump on any of the 3 that may be worth a look, then go forward with a trade. If I were to drop anyone on your team, I would drop Gonzalez or Heap (seeing how Olsen has already had his bye and should start producing as he gets comfortable with Cutler) and pickup a another WR

I like out of that list
Avery
Macalin
Ginn
Morgan

Tough to say at this point though who is gonna have the best season.

Thanks for the help on mine

Well Sammy Morris should get his touches. He'll be starting for the next couple of weeks and then DFad will get starting again when he comes back so theres another stashable RB for depth.

You trust a Browns or 49ers WR eh that's pretty scary prop.
Avery? Eh might be even worse.

Maclin is a good WR to target for sure.
I also like Andre Caldwell.
