Want AP - can I get him? Should I get him? WHIR

After stinking up the place the first four weeks (9 out of 10 teams - and the guy I was ahead of may be a monkey) and this week we kicked butt and got up to 3rd over-all. As you'll see from my roster, I have a nice concentration of good receivers and RBs - and wonder if I should concentrate resources on one guy: Peterson. Here's my team:

QB – Carson Palmer (CIN)
Matt Staub (HOU)

RB – Steven Jackson (STL)
Clinton Portis (WASH)
Cedric Benson (CIN)
Knowshon Moreno (DEN)
Beanie Wells (ARIZ)
Ladell Betts (WASH)

WR – Andre Johnson (HOU)
T.J. Houshmandzadeh (SEA)
Braylon Edwards (NYJ)
Brandon Marshall (DEN)
Johnny Knox (CHI)
Sidney Rice (MIN)

TE – Tony Gonzales (ATL)

K - Lawrence Tynes (NYG)

The guy who has AP is running Reggie Bush and Kevin Smith. He's in 7th place. His receivers are Boldin, Cotchery, and Smith (NYG).

I thought of offering Stephen Jackson and Braylon Edwards. Do you think this will do the trick? It might start a conversation that will get him to suggest replacing Jackson or Edwards with someone else. Is there any other trade that I could offer? Do you think trading for AP makes sense for me?

How many RBs/WRs does your league play?

Anyways, if I were him, Jackson/Braylon doesn't even come close to getting it done. He would be basically downgrading from AP to Jackson while upgrading Cotchery to Braylon. I would want Jackson/Andre at least...and even then that might not get it done for me.

You could always try your offer, but most likely you need to vastly over pay for AP.
