Help with my roster please...

Postby Tonegoblue » Tue Oct 13, 2009 10:42 am

Hi I am newer to fantasy football, this is my second year playing in a league. I have come in second to last both years. I am currently 1-3 in the league though two losses were very close, my last loss was actually a tie but the other guy had more bench points (tie breaker).

Anyway I am going to post my roster and I am looking for any and all input from who I could possibly drop to who I should start/sit etc. If there are players you suggest I can drop I will respond with who I can try and pick up to replace your suggested drop to see if it is worth it.

QB Carson Palmer
RB Chris Johnson
RB Marshawn Lynch
WR Mike-Sims Walker
WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh
WR Chad Ochocinco
TE Vernon Davis
D Packers
K Josh Scobee

Those are my current "starters" for this week here is my bench

RB Steve Slaton
WR Anquan Boldin
WR Lee Evans
QB Jay Cutler
RB Darren Sproles
WR Steve Breaston
RB Fred Jackson
D Cowboys * I picked up this D because of the packers bye week, I am currently looking to drop this D for a TE to cover Vernon Davis' by week. I am looking at picking up Heath Miller. Other possible TEs I can get are Visanthe Shiancoe, Jermichal Finley, Sean Ryan, Greg Olsen. I really only need the TE for this weekend.

Well there it is tear it apart and help me wherever you can I appreciate any help I can get.

I would definitely start Jay Cutler over Palmer.
Sproles and Jackson both have decent trade value so i would try too do that for someone that is more beneficial.
As far as your TE bye week goes i would prolly get Shiancoe, he seems too get a lot of TD passes from Favre.

Drop Greenbay and see if you can pick up Denver.

I am considering dropping Lee Evans and Steve Breaston. Some guys I can possibly pick up (third in the waiver order) Jeremy Maclin, Austin Collie, and Miles Austin are some names I see who have recently done very well at WR. For RB there is Sammy Morris, Jamal Lewis, Leon Washington, and Jamal Charles. For QBs there is Hasselback, Matt Cassel, Kerry collins, McNabb, and Chad Henne.

Should I try to add any of these players compared to my current roster as posted above?

Thank you for the help I've already gotten.

grab mcnabb as a first priority imo, even if you have no use for him trade him for something big. Maclin Austin and Collie are the 3 names everyone is looking at right now. of the 3 i personally like Maclin, Austin wont see consistant playing time because the cowboys have their hides in their butt butts. and Collie is a gamble because only so many people can have big games on the colts, and 2 of those spots are reserved for Clark/Wayne pretty much everyweek. Maclin is a rookie so he has the inconsistency that rookies are known for, but of the 3 i like him the best.
