3 man deal - huge implcations, need advice!!

Postby ufbrandon » Tue Oct 13, 2009 11:39 am

Hello all:

I am a rookie to fantasy football that could use some fast and solid advice from you pros - I got some help recently, but the proposal has changed a bit!

I have two good WR's currently, Roddy White and Ochocinco. I have concerns over my RB2, although this week is probably the one that will impact me the most since Forte is on bye.

I am in a fairly standard league, with 6 points for rushing / receiving touchdowns, and 1 point per 10 yards rushing / receiving. For quarterbacks, we get 1 point for every 25 yards passing and 4 points per touchdown.

However, we start 2 quarterbacks, 3 WR, and 2 RB. Thus, QB's are at a premium, as are quality WR's.

We also get 1 point per 30 return yards and 6 points for return touchdowns.

I am being offered
Brandon Jacobs
Brett Farve
Bernard Berrian

for:
Willis McGahee
Matt Stafford
Percy Harvin

The person i am trading with is QB heavy so he is willing to dump Farve and also has other solid running backs. He is lacking in WR's and wants Harvin.

He also wants Harvin because of the potential return points - as an aside, Percy Harvin has more points in my league than Roddy White and Ochocinco (he had more than 15 points in the first few weeks, and has consistently averaged around 7.5 since - in part because of return yards and scoring a return touchdown).

Do I give up Harvin to strengthen my RB and Quarterback situation? I am a little unsure about McGahee going forward ... should I sell high to get Brandon Jacobs, who I think will get better as season moves forward?

Then again, is it too risky to give up McGahee? Although McGahee has given me 15 plus points a few games, he has also got me only .20 points this week - I almost lost because of him!

I made some good pickups (I think) with Sammy Morris and Miles Austin recently and Massaquoi is stil lavailable on waivers.

I am currently 5-0 in my league so I don't want to screw up a good thing if you think I am fine. But I have a feeling that Jacobs could start to light it up more, and having Farve as my backup (especialy for Schaub's bye week) or if one of my QB's gets hurt seems to be a good choice. BUT I am wary of giving up Harvin and McGahee because of Harvin's potential for big games, just like McGahee's. On the flip side, Jacobs seems to be a consistent 7.5-12 point back who can break it for more.

Please let me know ASAP! My roster is below

Thank a lot!!
