Slaton for LT? WHIR

Postby isobro » Tue Oct 13, 2009 2:39 pm

I was offered Slaton for LT. Pretty straightforward, would you guys make this trade?

12 team, no ppr. Start 2 RB, 2 WR, and a flex WR/RB

QB: Rivers, Romo
RB: LT, Portis, L. Washington, C. Taylor, Betts, Coffee
WR: Randy Moss, Larry Fitz., Boldin, B. Berrian, D. Henderson.

And yes, these are my WR's, I wheeled and dealed. :)

I tried Boldin for Slaton, but he wouldn't do it. He would probably do Moss or Fitz for Slaton though.

First, I'd keep your WRs....trading Moss or Fitz for Slaton would be bad for your team, IMO.

I would do the deal for LT for Slaton.

LT has looked bad, and his injuries are worrisome. The fact that Sproles has looked better (at times) doesn't help. LT has been such a stud that it is hard to trade him...you want to hang on with the hope he will recapture his magic. But I think its just not looking good and if you can get a RB with more upside then go for it.

I think Slaton is a good guy to get. I'm a Texans fan, and although I was advising everyone not to take Slaton in the drafts (not because I didn't like him, but because he was going in the late 1st/early 2nd) but if you can get him with the right trade (like this one) then I like him at this point. He has been looking at lot better recently, and there is no question that he's the guy. He has talent and the Houston offense is looking pretty good. He may not be a stud, but he will be solid. I also like Houston's schedule for the stretch run (Sea, @StL, Miami).

It also helps that Chris Brown has failed MISERABLY as the goal line back...I would be very surprised if Brown gets the call on the 1 yard line next game. That is just a guess on my part...I haven't seen anything from the team on that...but Brown has failed in the 4th quarter two times from the 1 yard line (one fumble, once stuffed twice) and the team lost both games, more or less as a result.

Good luck
