Any way to improve? WHIR

Postby Bloody Nipples » Tue Oct 13, 2009 6:21 pm

I'm 4-1, and after a couple trades I probably have the top team in the league. I am looking to make a few moves on the WW this week:

1. Drop Marcedes Lewis for Royal (Maclin is second priority)
2. Drop Prater for Akers
3. Get a better D matchup, most likely dropping ATL

Clearly my strength is in my receivers. Would you suggest I look to ship somebody off to upgrade at another position? If so, who, and where? Also, any general comments are always welcome.

12 team, non-PPR
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 K, 1 DEF

QB: Rodgers, Orton
RB: Turner, Rice, Jamal Lewis, Choice
WR: Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Vincent Jackson, Breaston, Berrian
TE: Olsen, Marcedes Lewis
K: Prater
D: Washington, Atlanta

Leave your link and I'll see your team.
Thanks!

Thanks for help on my topic btw.

I had a good first impression when I looked at your roster. Rodgers is solid and you are past his bye week so backup QB is no problem for you. At RB, Turner and Rice are solid, however your 3rd RB in Lewis could be improved. If you play a flex position, most likely it would be a RB and I'm not so high on anyone that is part of the Cleveland offense. Your WRs are very good, nothing needed to be said there. TE's is where your weakest skill position is. Olsen is solid, but I am sure you could do much better.

Overall, I would try to aim for a better RB3. You might be able to package Orton (considering that Orton had a good game this week) and Lewis for an upgrade. There is no need for two defenses, so I would recommend dropping one of them for Royal/Maclin instead. I have M. Lewis, and this week he plays St. Louis, one of the most favorable matchups in the league, so I would at least try to keep him another week.

Other than that, you are amazing. ;-D

Update: dropped Marcedes for Royal and Prater for Akers

As for the flex issue, I'd just play Vincent Jackson there with the two Johnson's (assuming Calvin is healthy) at WR.

I actually really like your running back situation in terms of depth. As for wr, you def have some big names, but I'd watch out on Calvin Johnson and his fantasy value. Watch his injury status, and I might try to sell him high for a proven wr like a boldin, marshall, or tj/burleson, see if anyone bites. On the other hand you possibly could package CJ with J. Lewis for an upgrade at RB, possibly to help fill in the flex? All else looks good.
