Has anyone brewed their own beer before?

I got a Mr. Beer starter kit for Christmas last year and just got around to getting it going last week. If everything goes well, I was thinking about getting a better setup and was just wondering if anybody could make any recommendations or share some tips.

Also, post some pictures of your beers or a description, even some recipes you would want to share.

I've always been wary of the stuff exploding while it's fermenting. Let us know how it works out.

I have never done it, but I have friends that do. I do know that the most important thing when homebrewing is cleanliness.
