Now that Rodgers is past his bye week, I figure I should explore trading his back-up. Yes, I'm a little worried about that GB offensive line, but I figure Ben has a lot more value to me as trade bait than as an insurance policy, especially given my shaky RB situation and lack of depth at WR.
There are two teams in my league with QB issues, so I'm targeting them for a trade. Here are the relevant details on both:
Team 1
QBs: Palmer, Favre
RBs: Peterson, Mendenhall, TJones, JLewis, RWilliams
WRs: Colston, Jennings, Mason, AGonzalez
Team 2
QBs: Romo, Orton
RBs: RBrown, Forte, FJackson, LJohnson
WRs: AJohnson, Bryant, Avery, Breaston
I'm thinking my ideal situation would be to get Team 2 to give me Forte and one of his QBs for Ben and Coffee, though I'd probably throw in any of my RBs other than Slaton/Lynch. I don't really want any of his WRs other than AJ, who I'm not going to get.
As for Team 1, if I wanted a RB I could go after Mendenhall -- despite the question marks around FWP's injury, I would value him higher than TJones or Ricky. Alternatively, I could go after Colston or Jennings, though I'd probably have to include Braylon. That would give me three solid WRs, but still leave me with a bunch of inconsistent options at RB.
What do you think is the best play here? I've already proposed the Ben/Forte trade to Team 2, but am considering my options before I make any offers to Team 1.
