My league has 2 RB slots, 3 WR slots, 1 WR/TE flex and 1 WR/TE/RB flex. Basically, I need 4 receivers and 3 RBs, or 5 receivers and 2 RBs. I can't decide who to start since some of my players have tough matchups.
Here's the list of who I have, and who I am planning on starting. Please give me your best suggestions.
RB - Cedric Benson VS HOU (No brainer) RB - Rashard Mendenhall VS CLE (Don't see why not) WR - Mike Sims-Walker VS STL (Let's hope he doesn't screw me again this week) WR - Steve Smith (NYG) VS NO WR - Percy Harvin VS BAL (Hoping Baltimore's weak pass defense helps me out) WR/TE - Mario Manningham VS NO (Kind of worried about having 2 giants receivers this week) WR/TE/RB - Not sure. Below are my other choices.
We are in a small league, so I have a lot of backup choices. Here they are in all of their glory.
Ray Rice - Not sure about starting him VS Minnesota's run defense. I know he's been playing well, but if I'm not mistaken they haven't allowed a single rushing touchdown.
Ahmad Bradshaw - I don't want to stack my deck too heavily with Giants, since New Orleans is dangerous and I've already started two of their receivers.
Calvin Johnson - Probably injured, he boned me last week, I'm keeping him out until he's a definite positive.
Marques Colston - Replace Manningham with Colston? I know the Giants have not given up much in the way of passing yardage, but they have had a pretty easy schedule so far.
Reggie Bush - I'd rather not start him. He hasn't done a ton of work for me so far and I like Benson/Mendenhall or Benson/Other RBs much better.
for that last Flex spot, i think i'd go with Colston ... if Brees has a big game, Colston could always be a big part of it
i also have Mendenhall going this week, and not too worried about it.. he still looks like a good option especially vs the Browns... i also have Reggie Bush and most likely sitting him this week ... im also benching McGahee vs the vikings, and would do the same with Ray Rice if i had Benson/Mendenhall to play
as for starting 2 giants wr's .. its tough because their in Nola, but sometimes it can be good to start 2 Wr's from the same team... if one doesn't do much, theres a good chance the other will... so its kinda like an insurance policy
Tough, but I say NOT Steve Smith this week only and NO on Harvin this week only Ray Rice is good if a PPR league, as I think Flacco will check down alot - Good for Todd Heap owners too.

Would you take out Smith over any of my other receivers? If I remove him and Harvin as others have suggested, I don't have enough receivers unless I replace one with Johnny Knox. I've been convinced to keep Colston. I don't really want to start Bradshaw or Reggie Bush so I'm going to stick Ray Rice in my WR/RB flex. That will leave me with Rice/Mendenhall/Benson as RB's. For receivers, I'd only be able to drop one or possibly two if Knox is a good pick, which I'm really unsure about. I will play Colston and Sims-Walker for sure, and I'll have to start either Smith or Manningham.
And I would not remove Steve Smith (NYG), I meant Steve Smith (CAR), damn that is such a pain to specify every time isn't it!?
Sorry for the mix up
WR - Mike Sims-Walker VS STL (Let's hope he doesn't screw me again this week) WR - Steve Smith (NYG) VS NO (No worries) WR - WR/TE - Mario Manningham VS NO (No worries!!) WR/TE/RB - Bradshaw - START HIM!!!
I would seriously try to trade for Eli Manning and get a nice triplett going. Keep week 9 bye in mind though.
Colston will be keyed on this week. Hard to sit him, but you have the options avail.

Believe it or not, I do have Eli. Since this is a small league, we each have 3 QBs. I have Peyton, Eli and Favre. I didn't want to lean too heavily on the Giants so I was planning on starting Favre, but I'll seriously consider switching to Eli. I think I'm actually going to take your advice and bank on the Giants. I know the Steve Smith thing gets confusing, sorry. Thanks a lot for your help!
