Offered Turner/Housh for my Forte/Colston - WHIR

Postby jaykla » Wed Oct 14, 2009 9:16 pm

I have Brees as my starting QB (Schaub on the bench) and P.Thomas as my #2 RB.

I don't like having 3 players from the same team in my starting lineup (even if they are Saints).

I Get:
M.Turner & Housh

I Give:
Forte & Colston

So I'm willing to trade away Colston - but is this the right offer.

DO I ACCEPT THIS TRADE??? --- (1/2 PT PER RECEPTION, 2 PLAYER KEEPER LEAGUE (CAN'T KEEP FORTE AGAIN), PLAYOFFS IN WEEKS 14,15,16)

My Current Team: starters (reserves)
Brees (Schaub)
Forte / P.Thomas (McGahee / D.Brown)
Jennings / Colston / Mason (Cotchery, E.Royal, M.Austin)
Cooley
Tynes

This is tough, but I would probably do this deal. I'm not a huge Colston fan, and considering you can't keep Forte this next year, Turner is a nice replacement. Also if Hasselbeck is healthy I see Housh as a Top 10 WR so not a bad swap there for Colston.

I just checked and I won't be able to keep Turner either. So this move is really for this year -- does that change your response? Hasselbeck does get hurt frequently, which would definitely hurt Housh's numbers. Overall, I think its a pretty fair trade -- and it does help me with not starting 3 Saints (I would rather not let him rot on the bench and use another player).

I would do it. I think Turner and Forte will both be top backs. But I actually like Housh more than Colston. SEA has the easiest schedule vs the pass this year of any team, and doesn't play a single team that currently ranks in the top half of defensive rankings vs WRs for the rest of the year.

Thanks for the input on mine.

It's not terrible, but I wouldn't do it, especially in a PPR league, where Turner isn't much more valuable than Forte. I really like Colston as the #1 WR on the saints passing attack and don't expect much from housh. The upgrade from Forte to Turner isn't enough to justify giving up Colston for Housh.

this is a tough one, but I think my deciding factor is the fact that you can't keep Forte. If we were talking last year...in a PPR league, Forte would be a no brainer, but Cutler doesn't seem to be passing out of the back field nearly as much, so his PPR value is fairly similar to Turner's, but I think Turner's overall value is much more.

Also, Hass is constantly looking for Housh, to the drop off isn't as much as youd think from Colston.

I'd do it

Damn, I'd say this is about as close a trade you're gonna get... But, are the Saints gonna be resting guys by the playoffs? Make the deal.

I'm not sure I'd do it, I like Turner more than Forte, but Housh for Colston just doesn't do it for me. I think Burleson is Hasselbecks favorite target on the Seabirds. Turner and Forte both still have potential to be a top 10 back where I don't see Housh being a top 10 WR. I wouldn't do it. Good Luck.
