Some WR waiver help for a newbie please

Postby Bonger » Thu Oct 15, 2009 10:16 am

Hello, thanks for stopping by.

While i have been playing fantasy baseball for years, this is my first football season ever, and I am still not very comfortable with my analysis skills.

Maclin, Collie and Miles are free agents in my league, and everywhere I read, they are supposed to be hot pickups. I just don't know who all to drop and who all to pick up.

I feel that my team is very solid, with the exception of the weakness at WR. Maybe one of these guys could make my season. This is a standard H2H league with .5 PPR.

Also, I was offered Rice and Housh for Eli and Forte, whadaya think?

My team:

Warner, Kurt QB ARI
Forte, Matt RB CHI
Portis, Clinton RB WAS
Westbrook, Brian RB PHI
Moss, Santana WR WAS
Ward, Hines WR PIT
Gonzalez, Tony TE ATL
Akers, David K PHI
Steelers DST

Manning, Eli QB NYG
Lewis, Jamal RB CLE
Breaston, Steve WR ARI
Gonzalez, Anthony WR IND
Berrian, Bernard WR MIN
Williams, Roy E. WR DAL

Thanks for any help you can provide. I would offer to help in return, but I am afraid my advice would be questionable at best. However, feel free to hit me up with baseball questions. :-)

Anyone have any ideas?

I am leaning towards dropping Breaston and Berrian for Collie and Miles.

Thoughts?

Ok, Miles Austin just got picked up by someone else.

Should I make the move for Collie and Maclin instead?

I think Anthony Gozalez is droppable for either of those pickups. I Wouldn't make that trade though. No matter how much you like Warner, I think you need a solid backup for him because of the injury risk. Now if you wanted do something like trade Warner for Housh straight up, I'd be OK with that.

I would make the Rice/Housh for Eli/Forte Trade. Your hurting at WR and at this point in time Rice and Forte seem to be on par with each other. I personally am on the Rice bandwagon but he does have 2 other backs getting carries. As far as Collie goes leave him on the WW. You already have Gonzo who is either going to be there #2 or Slot going forward when hes healthy again.

Id say its a waste of time to pick up Collie when u have Gonzo whose there number 2 despite Garcons play in his absents. As far as the trade goes, i personally like it for u. You already have a solid QB in warner and you definantly need help at WR. On the flip side i also have a huge man crush on Ray Rice.
