Chris Johnson for Andre Johnson WHIR

Postby bigdog80 » Thu Oct 15, 2009 12:32 pm

What are your thoughts on this? My Chris Johnson, Schaub, Berrian, Mason Crosby (he needs a PK) for his Andre Johnson, Rodgers, MBIII & Chester Taylor (I have AP). Do I come out okay or would I be spreading my RB's to thin?

My roster:
QB: M. Schaub (HOU), J. Flacco (BAL)
RB: A. Peterson (MIN), C. Johnson (TEN), K. Smith (DET), D. Brown (IND)
WR: A. Boldin (ARI), W. Welker (NE), B. Berrian (MIN), K. Walter (HOU), N. Burleson (SEA)
TE: J. Witten (DAL)
PK: S. Gostkowski (NE), Mason Crosby (GB)
DEF: J.E.T.S.

His:
QB: A. Rodgers (GB), D. Garrard (JAX)
RB: M. Barber (DAL), S. Morris (NE), F. Gore (SF), C. Taylor (MIN), L. McCoy (PHI), J. Stewart (CAR)
WR: A. Johnson (HOU), B. Marshall (DEN), T.O. (BUF), M. Austin (DAL), J. Maclin (PHI)
TE: G. Olsen (CHI)
PK: EMPTY
DEF: Bears

This is a tough one. I think it could work out just fine for you assuming MBIII stays healthy. There are reports out there that he's got one of those season long nagging injuries, so that always scares me. Relying on K. Smith/D. Brown as your other RB's would be scary...

If you're high on MBIII than I'd say pull the trigger as Andre would be an obvious upgrade over Berrian (as well as your other WR's).

I would do that. You already have AP, and you get a nice upgrade at WR. Barber is iffy, but you have enough to minimize the risk. Go for it.

This looked close to a wash to me, but once I broke it all down, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Chris Johnson has more opportunity than Barber, but Titans are loosing which means a lot more passing. Barber is in a 3-way time share, but he still gets the bulk of the short-yardage/goaline loads.
Winner: Chris Johnson

With the QB's, this one was close. Schaub has been putting up good numbers of late....HOWEVER. They're still trying to get Slaton into last season form, that means less throws. Schaub also has a history of injury. On the flip side, Rogers has a horrible o-line, but he has a proven cast of WRs and he will always put up points.
Winner: Aaron Rogers

I'm not going to waste my time on this one....Andre gets more targets, yards, catches and TDs.
Winner: Andre Johnson

Don't get me wrong, I would hate loosing Crosby, the dude can put up points....but Chester Taylor is #1 on the Vikings in targets. Plus since you have AP it won't hurt.
Winner: Chester Taylor

Personally, I'd rather have Andre Johnson & Barber, than C.Johnson & Berrian. I would also rather have Rogers over Schaub. I think your decision is simple. Take it.

Thanks for the help on mine!

I would do it, it seems pretty fair and you would be still fine with your RB depth
