Deal Roddy White while value is high? (Get Brady/Witten)

Postby DannyG » Thu Oct 15, 2009 1:35 pm

Okay, this may sound like an obvious pass, being that this is a DYNASTY league and Roddy White is a young WR Stud (Traded my 1st Round pick for him next year)...

But I was offered Tom Brady/Jason Witten for Eli Manning/Roddy White.

Like I said, Dynasty and .5 PPR, so youth and receivers are important... although I really want to win this year...

Other notable players on my team:

QB: Cutler, Eli Manning
WR: Andre Johnson, Roddy White, Santonio Holmes, TO, Burelson, Sims-Walker, Crayton, Bess
RB: LT, Westbrook, Sproles, J. Lewis, M. Bush
TE: Owen Daniels
DEF: NYJ, IND
K: Crosby

So is the upgrade of Brady from a Cutler/Manning and Witten from Daniels worth losing my 2nd-4th best WR (Depending on how Burleson, Holmes, and Sims-Walker are playing)???

Pleas help!

I don't think it's a bad pick up - I think Cutler will always be better than manning and he's as young if not younger. Picking up Witten who is a top 3 TE normally would be nice to have. Getting Brady I also think would be great for the next 3+ years. He's not having a typical Brady year this year but I think the more he plays and gets over the knee injury the better he'll be.

Lastly, I think White is over rated

Stay put--there are sooo many reasons for you to pass on this.

1. You already have a quality TE in Daniels. If you get witten, you most likely have to try to ship Daniels or let his value chill on the bench.
2. Brady has only had 1 beast game thus far--his first game. It's a very questionable sale to assume Brady reverts back to posting beast numbers week in and week out. Obviously this is the buy low aspect of the trade--i don't think you are getting anything special considering your team
3. I assume you're in an 8 team league from the looks of your roster, if you are going to sell high on Roddy, do it to get a legitimate RB--it looks like you really really need one.
