Trading in Massive Team Overhaul?

Postby Patersnak27 » Thu Oct 15, 2009 7:07 pm

I completed 2 trades on a team that has gone 2-3, and have gotten mixed response from my league (12 team). My lineup before the trade was:

QB: Tony Romo, Hasselbeck
HBs: Michael Turner, Cedric Benson, Clinton Portis, Jonathan Stewart, Jerome Harrison
WR: Nate Burleson, Kevin Walter, Bernard Berrian, Eddie Royal, Donnie Avery, Cooley at TE
Def: Philly

I have really wanted to get rid of Romo (who I think has become a much more iffy fantasy QB) and Clinton Portis (same thing) and get some decent WRs, so in order to shake my teams up, I did the following 2 trades (which only make sense when looked at together):

Trade 1: I get Philip Rivers and Ted Ginn, he gets Nate Burleson and Eddie Royal.
Trade 2: I get Mario Manningham, Greg Jennings, and Jamal Lewis, he gets Tony Romo, Portis, and Kevin Walter.

Was I wrong in doing these trades?

You got the better end of things on both trades. But nothing that should cause people to get upset.

So your new roster looks like...

QB - Philip Rivers, Hasselbeck
RB - Michael Turner, Cedric Benson, Jonathan Stewart, Jamal Lewis, Jerome Harrison
WR - Greg Jennings, Mario Manningham, Bernard Berrian, Ted Ginn, Donnie Avery
TE - Cooley
DEF - Philly

I like your team. Jennings is gonna explode this week, and should see his production rise to where everyone expected it to be this year. Rivers is a great upgrade over Romo, too. I'm not a fan of Portis, so I can't say I care that he turned into Jamal Lewis. They both are gonna ride pine behind Benson and Turner.

I like what you've done, and probably would have done the same if I were in your shoes.
