Should I do this deal?

Postby EA2323 » Thu Oct 15, 2009 9:26 pm

I was just offered Brandon Jacobs and Steve Smith (CAR) for Matt Forte and Mario Manningham. The league is standard scoring for the most part, but bonus points are awarded for long TDs (50+) and 100+ yd games. Here are the rest of my WR and RBs (start 2 WR and 2 RBs):

MJD
M. Bush
F. Jackson
L. Maroney

B. Marshall
S. Moss
J. Cotchery

That trade is a tossup, but I probably would not do the deal. I know Forte has struggled early, but I think he is going to turn it around, and Brandon Jacobs is an injury risk (though he has broken 1000 yards 2 seasons in a row). I just see Forte as having more upside. I don't necessarily see Manningham as having a lot more upside than Steve Smith as both having some downside. Smith's downside is simply being a panther with delhomme throwing to him, and Manningham is gonna be in a crowded field with Nicks and Hixon returning. Overall, I say you slightly lose out in this deal.

I would. Steve Smith is a potential monster and mannningham is an unknown with a couple good weeks under his belt. RBs are a toss up if u ask me.

At this point the WR's are a wash. Smith and the Panthers offense is a mess. But Forte imo is a much better option then Jacobs. I wouldn't do it
