Rookie looking for some in-depth analysis on trading AP

Postby pre1322 » Thu Oct 15, 2009 10:15 pm

Guy in my league really wants AP from me. Says he's willing to send me one of his stud RB and another mid-rounder for AP...is this the right move for me, or can I afford to not capitalize?

10 teams, Scoring: PPR, 0.5 Pts/Rush Att, 10 pts for any TD, 7.5 Rec and Rush Yds/Pt

QB (start 1): Schaub, Cutler
WR (2): Steve Smith CAR, Roddy White, Housh, Walter
RB (2): AP, K Smith, Lynch (FLEX), Moreno, Jackson, Bush
TE (1): Carlson
Flex (1): Marshawn Lynch
K (1): Rob Bironas
DEF (1): NY Jets
D (2): D'Qwell Jackson, David Harris

With Rush Att counted and TD worth 10, I shy away from this, but here's his team:

QB (start 1): Rodgers, Orton
WR (2): VJackson, Jennings, Driver,
RB (2): Turner, Chris Johnson, Thomas Jones (FLEX), Sproles
TE (1): Tony Gonzalez
Flex (1): Thomas Jones
K (1): Ryan Longwell
DEF (1): Philadelphia, San Fran
D (2): Jared Allen, Ray Lewis, Nate Clements

Do I shoot for Turner or Johnson and a guy like Sproles or no? Or go big and capitalize on his apparent thirst for a top WR and try to trade AP and one of Smith, White or Housh for Johnson and Turner?

Really stumped here...help please?

The only way I'd make this trade is if you can get him to depart with CJ and Jennings.

Both are "sell low" options and not putting up great numbers.

Other then that I really don't see anything that would really make the trade worth your while.

Always hate when people consider anyone, even the best player in the game, untouchable.

Yes, you can trade ADP -- you just better get A TON in return.

Don't know what the other guy's roster looks like, but you could realistically ask for a top-2 QB and top-5 RB, or two top-10 RBs and a WR3, etc., etc.

Seriously, people say they wouldn't deal ADP, but if someone offered you Peyton Manning, Michael Turner and Larry Fitzgerald for him, you know you'd bite.
