what people dont seem to realize is, Samuels going down will likely mean Cooley has to help block, which would lessen his chances to produce.
with this being the first week to decide, it could be safer to start Finley in an equally nice matchup on a better offense, than chance cooley, who might be a doing a Tackles job all day.

Easy one--- Finley is the one you want. Like the poster above said, Cooley is being asked to block on a more regular basis w/ the Skins' O-line in shambles (trust me on this one). Furthermore, Finley's only TD in the NFL was against Detroit in GB's first meeting with them, better match-up, and ARodg is just better than Campbell under center. If the Skins' O-line were healthy this would be a tougher decision...
Finley all the way buddy

Thanks for the recent posts guys...but I read what the the analyists r saying too aboul Samuel down and Cooley helping out wit the Oline as well, its writin in my topic....Im not sure it should scare me so much however, since KC has like 4 sacks on the season & does not bring pressure...Im still leaning towards Cooley since Finley has 1 good game so far this year
Yeah, I hear you, and as a Skins fan I am HOPING that JC targets Cooley more often, bc zero catches for someone with Cooley's talent is unacceptable, and not a recipe for victory. He should be a redzone target at ALL times imo. Why the Skins don't run the bootleg/fade to Cooley like San Diego does w/ Gates or like Big Ben does w/ Miller is a mystery; JC is a great athlete and if the play breaks down he can always run... we shall see what happens, but Finley is GB's best pass-catching TE, and the match-up against DET is cause for optimism. Until the Skins' O-line problems are rectified, Cooley will be asked to block a whole lot more than he would normally, that's all.

im looking at it this way, If you start Cooley despite the possibility he might be blocking alot, and he does nothing, while Finley has a huge day against a very TE friendly D, youre going to kick yourself. itll drive you nuts all week for going with the riskier situation.
but if you go with Finley, and he does nothing, and Cooley has a nice game, youll still be mad, but it will be more of an "oh well, what are you gonna do.."
finley has a great matchup, the better qb, past success against DET, and is coming off a huge game and a bye week to get ready for the Lions. most this season the Redskins have struggled to score pts even when Samuels was healthy and blocking instead of Cooley.
the matchup tilts in Finley's favor heavily imo, despite Cooleys equally nice matchup and talent level.
im still going to wait til before gametime to make a final call based on info about maybe a gameplan or something from the redskins, but right now finley looks like the smarter decision. if it doesnt work out, oh well. you played the matchup with higher upside. if it does, you feel pretty smart and have a good chance at winning.
