Time to give up on Julius Jones? WHIR

Postby zftcg » Sun Oct 18, 2009 6:10 pm

I generally subscribe to the view that a RB is better than a WR, but I think I've finally reached a point with JJ where I could never start him with any confidence. I have depth issues at WR (only three on my roster, one of whom -- Megatron -- is injured) so I'm thinking I should drop him for some WR help. Best option available is probably Eddie Royal, or maybe Ginn.

------
QB: Rodgers, Roethlisberger
RB: Slaton, Lynch, JJones, Washington, Wells
WR: Calvin Johnson, Edwards, SSmith (NYG)
TE: Daniels
K: Kaeding
D: Denver, SF

10 teams, 0.5 PPR, 0.25 PPC, 10 yds rush/rec, 20 yds pass, 6 pts all TDs
Start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, flex, TE

Well I think that you need depth at rb and wr, but I agree you can't start JJ with any confidence. I would first look at the matchups of your rb's on Slaton and Lynch's bye weeks before I drop him, if he has a favorable match up then you may want to hold on to him. I think I may drop Wells before him and grab Royal. Denvers offense is starting to really hit there stride and he will start to play better. I like Wells but they just aren't a running team and I think that Hightower is the man there. Good luck.

With the deadline on the way, I would see if anyone else with bench space likes him. If you can't trade him, I think you have to keep him. Seattle had a complete fluke of a game where they rushed 11 times. Running will be back in the game plan and JJ will take it. I think you can drop Wells or one of your defenses first. Pick up Royal and put him into one of those slots.
