TRADE HIGH ON DEANGELO WILLIAMS?

Postby dtownsound8 » Sun Oct 18, 2009 9:12 pm

So... is it time to trade Deangelo Williams?

Pros:
-Didn't really take off til midseason last season
-Carolina was run first team last year and started this year off pass first... did horrible with that and it looked like they went back to being a run first team.
-Good matchups the next couple weeks (Buffalo, Arizona) and still plays TB again, Atlanta,
-Could have a few more strong weeks, which would up his value for a trade

Cons:
-Sucked so far this season, even against good matchups (couldnt produce vs Washington?!)
-Horrible matchups during fantasy playoffs (MIN, NYG, NO)
-Could have some more rough weeks, lowering his value and blowing any chance to get a good trade

Is it time to off him or can we expect more of the same?

I have him too and was thinking about trying to trade him this week or next (after they've played the bills). The fact is carolina's passing game has been non-existent so far this year and good teams (i.e. not the bucs) will focus on stopping the run and making delhomme beat them. I just can't see carolina running the ball with frequent success unless they develop some form of passing threat. The other obvious factor is that stewart continues to take a tonne of carries from williams and seems to be the preferred option for goal line work. He was against washington and was given the first two downs in the fourth quarter today when they were inside the five although williams eventually got the score. would be interested to hear what others think.
