My Welker/Grant for his Holmes/Jacobs?! **WHIR!!!**

Postby F4L » Mon Oct 19, 2009 4:47 pm

Hey guys, back with a real toughie this time.

I am in a 12-team, non-PPR, VERY competitive league, and I have a big offer on the table.

I am sittin at 4-2, and would be 5-1 if it wasnt for Drew Brees beating me Week 1. Top 6 make the playoffs, and Im gearing u for a big playoff run. I have been offered Brandon Jacobs and Santonio Holmes for my Wes Welker and Ryan Grant.

My team:

QB- Schaub, Hasselbeck
RB- DeAngelo Williams, Pierre Thomas, Ryan Grant, Caddy Williams, Maroney
WR- Andre Johnson, Wes Welker, Sidney Rice, Donnie Avery, Austin Collie
TE- Tony Gonzalez
K- Prater
DEF- Philly

Its a standard scoring, and lineups league, so 1 QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, K, DEF. I obviously have room to upgrade my WR core aby trading Ryan Grant, and buying low on Jacobs. Welker's remaining schedule, and the way he has been performing makes me want to keep him though.

IF I do this trade, I was going to trade Jacobs fo Steven Jackson. Then trade DeAngelo for a top WR like Roddy White, or Colston. So my roster would ideally look like this...

QB- Schaub, Hass
RB- S-Jax, Pierre, Caddy, Maroney
WR- Andre, Holmes, Colston/Roddy?
TE- Tony

Should I first, initially do this Jacobs trade without taking into consideration the following moves I would make? Then, taking into account the moves I am going to make to get the best playoff matchups and strengthen my starting lineup, should I do it and follow through on all my moves?

I WHIR anyone, this is really tough for me and will determine my season! Leave your link, thanks!!!

To me, Grant and Jacobs seem to be about a wash as of right now but I do think Jacobs has more potential. However I really like Welker especially after seeing Brady come to life yesterday. I really don't like Steven Jackson this year because it seems like St. Louis cant get to the end zone. Good runner, bad team. With a good record like yours I think I would stand pat. Your team looks pretty solid as is,

i totally agree with the above, don't mess with a good thing! although, i haven't looked at the playoff schedules of the respective players, just based on how they look today, I would absolutely take welker/grant over holmes/jacobs. i wish someone would offer me a deal like that (i have jacobs by the way). you've got a great team and who knows if your dream situation will even work out.
QB: Matt Stafford
WR: Roddy White
WR: Pervcy Harvin
WR: Jeremy Maclin
RB: Chris Johnson
RB: Reggie Bush
TE: Anthony Gonzales
K: Gostkowski
DEF: Baltimore

BENCH: Peyton Hillis, Anquan Boldin, Ryan Williams, Mario Manningham, James Jones, and Robert Turbin
