Trade Help: CJohnson, MTurner, WWelker, RWayne WHIRL

Postby wad3g » Tue Oct 20, 2009 9:01 am

My roster is currently in my sig. I'm highly considering doing this trade and going to click accept. What do you all think about this trade:

I Give: David Garrard, Chris Johnson, Wes Welker, Santana Moss, and Jonathan Stewart
I Get: Donovan McNabb, Michael Turner, Bernard Berrian and Reggie Wayne

If I do this trade the only other bye week I have to worry about is Andre Johnson.

What should I do, this is a big deal.

12 Team League, TD = 6 pts, 25 pass yds = 1 pt, 10 rushing/receiving yds 1 pt, and fumble/int -2 pts
QB: Ben Roethlisburger
WR: Calvin Johnson
WR: Dez Bryant
WR: Jeremy Maclin, Robert Meachem
RB: Darren McFadden, Michael Bush
RB: Michael Turner, Daniel Thomas, Ryan Torain
TE: Jimmy Graham

QB: David Garrard, Matt Hasselbeck
WR: Andre Johnson, Santana Moss
WR: Roddy White
WR: Wes Welker
RB: Chris Johnson, Jonathan Stewart
RB: Pierre Thomas, Mike Bell, LeSean McCoy
TE: John Carlson

Hmm...McNabb is nearly a downgrade IMO. Johnson for Turner is pretty close, though I think you will end up better off with Turner (but who knows.) Berrian has pretty much proved useless fantasy wise this year, and being a Vikes fan, I personally don't see it getting a whole lot better. Wayne would fit in really nicely though with Andre and Roddy. Santana is too much of a boom or bust guy to be used regularly. So that is my stream of conciousness on the whole thing. I would really like it if you could weasel Stewart out. Hate to jump on the banwagon so quickly but it looks like Carolina may have remembered that they can run the ball. Would that absolutely break the deal if you swapped out Stewart?

Overall I would personally say that he is getting the slightly better end of it, again IMO. However, like I said, hard to mess with Wayne Johson and White. And of course you would still be set at back with Johnson and Thomas, though it would be nice to hang on to Stewart, but I am sure that is a deal-breaker. Good luck, and post if/when it goes through and let me know how it ended.

Well I have a few options I can do in the deal.

Garrard, CJ, Welker, Stewart/Moss
for
Palmer, Turner, Wayne

The only reason Berrian was on there is because he was going to be dropped and he is a better pick up than any of our currently FA's. This deal is big for me, I'm sitting at 3-3 in the league playing the #2 team (my room mate). That's not what its about though, Garrard and Hasselbeck have their bye's and I need a W this week.

No, I highly doubt it. He said no to that yesterday. He needs a RB pretty bad.

We have already traded once this year as well. The first trade I got Roddy White and I have up Jerrico Cotchery & Carson Palmer.

I don't really want Palmer. He is solid but I feel like McNabb can have the huge numbers games, and if not my WR's being Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, and Roddy White could make up for my QB and/or RB when they have sub par performances.

It would be nice to have those 3 starters and no longer have to worry about byes. I'm worried about CJ since the Titans are terrible even though Turner has a tougher schedule. My inconsistency at QB is killing me. The past 2 weeks between my starting QB's I've gotten 4.3 points. Luckily I squeaked out a win yesterday when my opponent still had Phillip Rivers and Knowshon Moreno left to play.

The way I see it, this entire trade comes down to one thing, do you consider McNabb an upgrade over Garrard? If you do, then I think you do this deal. If you don't, then no deal. Personally, I think it is an upgrade, so I would do it. The rest of the trade makes sense for you if you like McNabb.

Well, I think Turner will be more consistent if anything. CJ and Turner are pretty even. Wayne is obviously a big step up. I like McNabb more than Garrard. Have you tried Garrard, CJ, Welk, Moss for McNabb, Turner, Wayne? I would like that one better than ending up with Palmer.

Yea I tried that too and after talking with him today it's essentially this deal or no deal.

He mentioned Garrard, CJohnson, Welker, and Roddy White for Michael Turner, Reggie Wayne, and Donavan McNabb but I'm not going to do that.

I also think McNabb is an upgrade over Garrard. Jax looks lost.

Take a look at their 2 schedules and see who has the more favorable matchups, especially when Hasselbeck is on bye or has an unfavorable matchup.

Thanks for help with mine.

I agree with most of what's been posted already: Turner is likely more consistent than CJ, you can't go wrong with Johnson, White and Wayne at WR, I prefer McNabb over Garrard, and while it does kinda suck to give up Stewart as well, I would make the deal.
