Crabtree is Available! Who to drop?

Postby xlinder » Tue Oct 20, 2009 11:01 pm

So Crabtree is on the waivers because of his late signing. I don't know who to drop. That's where you come in!

My current RBs: Deangelo Williams, Ray Rice, Tim Hightower, Cadillac Williams, LeShawn McCoy
My current WRs: Marques Colston, TJ Housh, Pierre Garcon, Donnie Avery

I'm looking at dropping McCoy, Garcon, or Avery.

- McCoy has value only if Westbrook is out, so should I bank on him getting hurt or just drop McCoy?
- Anthony Gonzalez comes back this week or next, and Garcon has only had 2 +10 point weeks without Gonzo on the field...how will he produce with Gonzo back?
- Avery had a good week 5, followed by a great start to week 6 AND a horrible end to week 6 with the injury. He's Day-to-day now, so do I keep him or drop him?

Notes about my league: .5 PPR, 12 team, 2 WR / 2 RB / No Flex players to start each week (must have on roster: 2QB/4RB/4WR/2TE/2K/2DST/1 of your choice)

I need your opinions as soon as possible because the waivers are processed at either 2 am or 3 am EST and it's 12 am now!

Thanks!

PS- Please give reasoning behind who to drop, instead of just a name.

If you really want Crabtree drop Garcon....but I personally don't think you get ahead with Crabtree. He has not played meaningful football for how long? He will not be a factor this season.

I wouldn't get all hot and bothered about Crabtree. The niners are averaging a hair over 16 completions/game. The only team with fewer per game are the Raiders. The Niner don't throw the ball, it's not their style.

Crabtree will be the #3 or 4 receiving option on that team behind Davis, Gore, Bruce/Morgan. You can maybe hope for a couple of catches per game. They aren't going to change their style of play though.

The fact that Crabtree missed all of training camp and rookie WRs almost never make an impact notwithstanding.

Well the only reason I'm taking a chance on him is because my WRs SUCK! Other than Colston being solid,

- Housh has been horrible other than 1 18 pt week.
- Garcon had 2 10+ pointers but is going to lose now that Gonzo is back
- Avery still hasn't proven himself

I'm hurting bad at WR, so I'm hoping maybe Crabtree will be a decent slot receiver and if he gets half the points Wes Welker gets, then I'll be happy.
