Offered Witten for Mendenhall. Worth It? WHIR.

Postby jarobert » Wed Oct 21, 2009 10:32 am

My current TEs are Jermichael Finley and Dustin Keller. Finley has a lot of potential but only one good week. Keller has been useless.

Witten should be an upgrade but has been a big dissapointment this year.

My other RBs are Westbrook, Benson, and Grant and we only can start 2. I should be OK there.

The questions are is Witten an upgrade? If so is it enough of an upgrade to give up the newly appointed starter Mendenhall?

I would....Finley and Keller are horrible and Witten is elite! You other RB's are good as is so no need for Mendy as you most likely wouldn't play him anyways!

Good Luck!

i agree, regardless of the slow start Witten is an elite TE....you're solid enough at RB that you can give up Mendy for him.

No, I don't think so. You're probably going to give up about 12-17 ppg out of Mendenhall (now that he's the starter, you can't really count the first 3 weeks against him) and gain what in Witten (about 8ppg in my league this year)? Westy is not having a typical season, and he's always hurt. Ryan Grant isn't doing much this season either. As crazy as it sounds, Benson is your best HB option if you get rid of Mendenhall, and right now I would be starting Mendenhall over either of the other two guys.

If I were you, I'd take a look at the rest of his roster and try to package Westy/one of your TEs for Witten and a HB of his.

I also would not do the trade. Witten is not that much of an upgrade over Finley. GB throws the ball alot and Rogers looks to Finley often. Mendenhall has more upside than Witten as well. You are already weak at RB stay put.

I also would not do the trade! Witten is great and Mendenhall has a tough schedule coming up.

What if the trade was Mendenhall and Keller for Cadillac Williams and Witten. Would you do it then?
