Unloading MJD help...100% WHIR as always...

Postby SameSongNDance » Mon Oct 26, 2009 11:54 pm

Okay just to bring you up to speed on the way my league works...

We start 2 QBs - 1 point per 15 yards, 1 point per completion, -.2 for an incompletion, 7 points per touchdown, bonus at 300 (7pt),350 (14pt), and 400(20pt) yards.

We start 3 WRs - 1 point per 10 yards, 2 points per reception, 7 points per touchdown, bonus at 100 (7pt), 150 (14pt), and 200 (20pt) yards.

We start 2 RBs - 1 point per 5 yards, 2 points per reception, 7 points per touchdown, bonus at 100 (7pt), 150 (14pt), and 200 (20pt) yards.

We then start 1 TE and also have the two FLEX spots which are WR/TE and WR/RB.

The point system is absolutely crazy but balances out in the end. As you can see it is a 2PPR league so WR's hold huge value, seeing as you can start 5 in any given week. RB's who catch a lot out of the backfield (Ray Rice, MJD, Hightower) also hold more value than usual. Also, a QB who can throw for over 300 yards consistently is an absolute monster. Now, down to business...

My team is as follows...

QB - Rivers, Garrard, Cassel
WR - Colston, Smith (CAR), D. Jackson, S. Holmes, Sims-Walker, Crabtree
RB - MJD, Gore, R. Brown, Benson, Lynch
TE - O. Daniels, V. Davis
D/ST - NYG, IND

My team has been absolutely beastly. We don't have playoffs and I'm currently 6-1 (lost by .3 last week on an overturned sack, mid week, by the Elias Sports Bureau). Anyway, as you can see I'm extremely strong at RB and I've been seriously debating unloading MJD to improve my glaring QB weakness. I also don't like holding an entire set of skill players from one team, I.E Garrard, MJD, Sims-Walker, as I feel it severely limits my teams upside. Here are my trade options...

- MJD for Palmer + Housh

- MJD for Flacco

- MJD for Cutler + Addai

- MJD for McNabb + WR2 or RB2 (haven't gotten a clear offer yet)

- stay put?

I will keep updating with more offers. I'm leaning towards the Cutler and Addai deal. I would have taken the Palmer deal but CINs offense is extremely balanced and I already have Benson. Palmer, although having a great week this week, will rarely, if ever throw for 300 yards. If you have read up to this point please chime in with any thoughts. I really appreciate any and all input. Thanks and be sure to leave a link!

You are 6-1 (great record) and MJD is arguably #1 or #2 RB in the show. If something isn't broken don't fix it! I'd stay put personally. But, if you really do feel inclined to make a deal I don't like any of those deals you presented as I feel none of them are enough for MJD. Hope this helps!

Yea those Rbs are pretty nice. What value do you think you can get out of Gore, maybe a Gore+Garrard for Palmer or Flacco? Also I like A. Smith now that he's starting over Cassel as a QB3. As for Cutler and McNabb :-t . McNabb is a lottery pick each week imo. Lets not talk about Oak. Against the Skins he looked uncomfortable and the one TD pass he threw to Djax, who is amazing, was behind him and it was more of Djax beating his man than McNabb making a good throw. The Phi offense in all was average if that, and the only reason why they won the game was Djax, and poor play/mistakes by Wash = good field position. Cutler, well, he hasn't looked like someone worth trading Gore and Garrard for.

i'd either stay put or look to get a better QB for MJD. he's worth more than any of the QB's you have listed...you need to go for someone thats pushing 300yds every week....Schaub, Rivers, etc.

I would stay put. Why change what is working for you. I would only trade MJD for a QB like P Manning or someone else that is going to be throwing a lot each week.

Here is mine. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=457760

Thanks for the advice. Currently, Flacco ranks 7th in our league in points (QBs). Is he still not good enough for MJD?

Try and get Schaub or Manning... obviously it depends on those teams in your league needing an upgrade at RB. But MJD is too much of a stud to trade for anything you mentioned.

I just wanted to update where I'm at after a couple trades a managed to pull off. Remember we start 2 QBs, 3 WRs, 2 RBs, 1 TE, 1 TE/WR, 1 RB/WR...

Before...

QB - Rivers, Garrard, Cassel
WR - Colston, Smith (CAR), D. Jackson, S. Holmes, Sims-Walker, Crabtree
RB - MJD, Gore, R. Brown, Benson, Lynch
TE - O. Daniels, V. Davis
D/ST - NYG, IND

After...

QB - Rivers, Cutler
WR - Colston, Megatron, D.Jackson, Boldin, Sims-Walker, Crabtree, Walter
RB - MJD, Gore, R.Brown, Lynch, Charles
TE - Davis (I lost Daniels :~( )
D/ST - Irrelevant

All together I traded Benson, Garrard, Smith (CAR) and Holmes for Cutler, Megatron and Boldin

I also dropped Daniels for Walter and Dropped Cassel for Charles.

I got to keep MJD!

If Boldin can get healthy again you made some good deals. Nice job. ;-D

I would look to move one of the other RBs. MJD is the #1 back in my league. He has to be pretty close to the same in yours.

Return the favor?
