WeeK 8 RB help...WHIR

Postby silverZ » Tue Oct 27, 2009 10:13 am

Right now I'm leaning towards starting both SD RB's and Hightower. LT is still getting a ton of carries and should be good for 10+ points against OAK. Sproles is a must start in this scoring because of his return and pass catching ability. Buckhalter/Moreno have a tough matchup @BAL against an angry Ravens D so I'm leaning towards starting Hightower over either one of them. I'm hoping Megatron plays so I don't have to consider Avery or Jones right now. Thoughts?

Scoring - PPR - 6 pt all TD including return TD - 1 pt per 25 return yards

QB: Rodgers
RB: LT2, Sproles
WR: Smith(NYG), Megatron
W/R: Hightower
TE: Gates
DEF: Arizona
K: Kaeding

Bench RB: Buckhalter, Moreno
Bench WR: Avery, Jacoby Jones
Bench QB: Sanchez

Thanks for the help.

This is tough, since you get return yards I think Sproles is a must start. LT is getting more carries now but not seeing the endzone. They are playing Oakland so I like starting both RBs here.

Your flex is harder though, Wells looked really good last game so I think that will cut into Hightower's value. BUT, they are playing Carolina and for consistency purposes, I'd go with Hightower in your flex rather than gambling with Avery/Moreno/Buckhalter. Even when he had a bad last game, he got a TD.

This is my thinking on this exactly. I think Hightower is MUCH less of a no-brainer than he was a week or two ago, but I would rather gamble with him than trying to pick the right Denver back this week...

I'd go with the same lineup you have in now. ARI should be running a ton on CAR after they get a big lead and Hightower will get points. If Avery was healthy I might gamble with him because DET will put up points on them(assuming Megatron/Stafford or Culpepper play) and they will have to throw. DEN backs will split too much time going against a solid run D.
