Help....Trade...MJD for Chris Johnson

I was offered the following trade today. This is a 12 team standard non ppr league with 5 point bonus's for either 100 yards receiving or 100 yards rushing. 6 pts for td's and 1 pt for every 10 yards rush or rec. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR flex, 1 TE, 1 K & 1 D

QB Rivers, Hasselback

RB CJ, P. Thomas, S. Slaton, K. Smith, L. White

WR V. Jackson, D. Driver, A. Gonzales, M. Massaquoi

TE V. Davis

K N. Folk

D Philly

I was offered MJD, R. Jennings & J. Cotchery

for

Chris Johnson, P. Thomas & L. White

White & Jennings are simply handcuffs. It comes down to how much better is MJD than CJ and if that justifies giving up P. Thomas for Cotchery. Thomas has upside but it was extremely frustrating watching Bell get all the carries in the 2nd half. Cotchery was having a good year before he got hurt and who knows what you will get with Sanchez struggling & Edwards on the scene now. Thomas or Cotchery will be back ups so they are a luxury. I really like CJ and his big play potential but MJD is pretty explosive himself, gets the goal line carries and at least for the time being plays on a better team. Really need some help with advise on this one. I'll return the favor.

I like MJD over CJ because they are a more stable team and have a chance to be competing for a playoff spot. I say go for it since cotchery will eventually be back and is sanchez's go to guy

I would stand pat. If it was truly MJD for Johnson, then I would definitely want MJD because of the goal-line carries. However, even though I was a little down on Pierre Thomas in my other thread, he's still quite a bit more valuable than Cotchery, who has a rookie throwing to him and who has to compete with Braylon Edwards for targets/catches. I'd stand pat instead of doing this one.

I would do this simply because you upgrade at RB, and actually at WR as your flex with Cotchery over Mass. and Gonz.

If you could get the other team to go just for MJD/CJ and their backups, I would do it. If they insist on Thomas being in the trade, I would ask for a better WR than Cotchery. I like MJD better than CJ but would not want to give up Thomas also.

I wouldn't do it. I like MJD over CJ, and I think Pierre Thomas is more valuable than Cotchery.

I too like MJD better than CJ but I also think PT is more valuable than Cotch...that being said I think you would still be OK at RB with Slaton and Smith and add a little depth at WR. So my vote is......yes.

Thanks for answering mine, I'd stand pat. I like MJD but CJ has a better sched going forward. The back end of the deal is what kills it for me.
