Recipe to be 7/8

Postby Those About To Rock » Thu Oct 29, 2009 4:22 pm

I am 3-4 and in 7th place (of 8) which, I guess, indicates a fairly balanced league. The guy in 8th only has one win. My confusion is why I, for whatever reason, am in 7th. This is a keeper league (keeping 8/15 players) and here is my roster:

QB: M. Schaub
RB: A. Peterson
RB: K. Smith
WR: M. Austin
WR: S. Smith (NYG)
W/R: K. Moreno
TE: V. Shiancoe
K: L. Tynes
DEF: Saints
BEN: S. Rice, A. Collie, D. Brown, M. Crabtree, J. Flacco, B. Wells

Bench isn't super strong, but the starting lineup has me at lowest points in league (even less total points than the guy in 8th)

What am I doing so wrong?

looks kinda like the situation im in in one of my leagues. I have tons of great great pick ups off the waiver wire so on paper my team looks like it should destroy every week. But i only have 2 wins, lots of the loses were because i started the wrong people though, for a while i had too choose between benson and rice and finally decided it was a waste and traded benson for some more depth at wr which i lacked at the time. last week i had a pretty easy win even with miles austin sitting on my bench which would have made me win by something like 40 or 50. this week im expecting the same results except now rice is off his bye so im not stuck with stupid clinton portis =) id expect you too start winning more as it looks like you got a lot of the great pick ups i got as well.

A couple were trades too, but i have been like madd adding the FAs. S. Smith of NYG and M. Austin both undrafted. Schaub was a draft pick nobody else thought was good. I just hope the team is settling out. Very frusatrating. I did have Austin benched last week for B. Edwards of the Jets. Very good idea, well, it would have been if the idea was to get very few points.

Just making sure I wasn't missing the forest for the trees, so to speak.

ihad miles austin benched as well i could have used him in my flex instead of clinton portis. i got austin and flacco of the waiver, and i got steve smith in a TE trade once i got desperate for wr because calvin johnson went down. im sure a lot of people had austin sitting last week, many thought he was a one week wonder.
