Not a no-brainer. You clearly come out better at TE, but despite what I thought at first glance, I'm not certain you come out ahead at QB.
Brees blew up those first two weeks, but since then, he's only gone for 8 TD & 4 INT over the last 4 games, including 4 TD and 0 INT in 1 game. Good numbers, but not world-beating.
With SD's running game tanking, over the last 3 (as you know) Rivers has gone 7 TD 0 INTs, against two pretty good defenses out of three played, in PIT and DEN.
Also, fftoolbox.com ranks the remaining strengths of schedules of the two teams with respect to QB play at 12th-best for SD, and 20th-best for NO.
Not a clear-cut done deal either way, as is the case with most good trades. I say you have to go with your gut on this one.
i think he was talking about schaub, not rivers. i say go for the trade. i would take it...
QB: Matt Stafford WR: Roddy White WR: Pervcy Harvin WR: Jeremy Maclin RB: Chris Johnson RB: Reggie Bush TE: Anthony Gonzales K: Gostkowski DEF: Baltimore
BENCH: Peyton Hillis, Anquan Boldin, Ryan Williams, Mario Manningham, James Jones, and Robert Turbin
as of now Schaub is the better fantasy QB (but Brees is good too) and IMO Rice is better than Moreno, but having MJD and Benson he probably doesnt see your lineup to often....with jennings lackluster season so far i'd try to get a better WR from him instead of Moreno.
If you didn't have as good as RBs as you do I would say no, but since you have MJD and Benson, roll the dice. Brees will be a great addition to that backfield.
Brees is on a team that would put up lots of points each week and with the running backs you already have I would say that this is a good deal for you.
