Looking toward playoffs: Beanie or A.Gonz? (WHIR)

14 team PPR league. Fairly deep, so not much on the WW. I've been offered Beanie Wells and Patrick Crayton for Anthony Gonzalez and Earl Bennett. I'm in first place right now, and for me, it comes down to: who will help me out more come playoff time? I'm leaning toward taking it, because I'm strong at WR and don't have much RB depth. Here's my team:

Start QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R

QB: Matt Ryan
WR: Steve Smith (NYG), Chad Ochocinco, Greg Jennings, Austin Collie, Kevin Walter, Earl Bennett, Anthony Gonzalez
RB: Adrian Peterson, Thomas Jones, Justin Fargas, Jamaal Charles, Derrick Ward, Glen Coffee
TE: Brent Celek

Any opinions will be appreciated. I'm going to bed, but if you leave a link, I'll take a look tomorrow. Thanks.

It seems like Wisenhunt is getting Wells the ball more and more. They didn't waste a draft pick on him to be Tim Hightower's backup. Since this is PPR its a tough choice since Agonz would be the definite choice here.( Wells not so good in the passing game) We don't know what Gonzalez is gonna play like after he comes back.(Hopefully like the #2 we know he is, I own him too in a 14 team league) Wells will see more time and has a pretty decent playoff schedule if I can remember.

I see your lineup as this

Ryan
AD
TJones
Wells Flex
S SMith
Occhocinco
Jennings
Celek

I'd do it....just for the realization that you have unproven backups at RB. ;-D

Thanks for your help.

I would take it, Wells is starting to get the ball more and has favorable playoff matchups.

I'd take it for sure.

Gonzo is a big ? in my mind. The WRs who have stepped in have done a good job, so who knows exactly what Indy's WR situation will look like once Gonzo is back in the mix. Also his injury could linger slightly. Lastly, he was never exactly a proven commodity anyway.

Bennett isn't worth much.

Beanie has some current value, but his real value is in his future potential. Clearly, he is a better runner than Hightower, and I think its reasonable to assume he will continue to get the majority of the carries, as he did last week. Now, his current value is limited by Hightower getting most of the pass catching and goal line opportunities, but certainly Beanie could eat into those if he continues to impress.

Most importantly, you are most concerned with playoff time, and Arizona has one of the best schedules out there...I think it is SF, Stl, Det (double check that). Beanie could be huge. And of course Indy may have things locked up, so even if Gonzo is looking good, his value could take a hit wk 16 if he and/or Peyton are benched.

good luck
