Favre's gonna play next Sunday per Coach Sherman:
Sherman said the injured thumb was healing, however, and that Favre did not suffer any setbacks. With 6 minutes to go against Tampa Bay, Favre jammed the thumb into one if his linemen while following through on a pass attempt. Favre shook the hand and grimaced in pain.
"He's three weeks out from a broken thumb. It's healing as we speak. It's getting better," Sherman said. "Obviously when you bang it, it's going to hurt. Even though it hurt, it's still getting better. He did not re-injure the thumb. He can't really re-injure it unless he breaks another part of the thumb. So it's healing and it will continue to get better.
"I believe this thing will pass eventually where in another three weeks, it will be less and less a problem for him."

I'm not sure what to expect out of Favre down the strech. As for deep balls he rarely throws them anyway. Most of his yards come from stuff underneath. He's had two good games w/the thumb injury: St. Louis and Minn. And two bad ones: Philly and TB. - Although the TB game was a bad one fantasy wise, Favre did make some huge plays to lead the Packers to victory.
If you don't have much for backups, I'd continue to start Favre. The Packers have a very weak schedule down the strech.
