Marion Barber/ Colston for DeAngelo/Sims-Walker? WHIR

Postby DEN » Fri Oct 30, 2009 11:23 am

Should I do this trade?
My Marion Barber/ Colston for his DeAngelo/Sims-Walker?

It will allow me to get rid of Marion Barber who I don't really like. But is the drop off too big from Colston to Sims-Walker? Colston has a sweet schedule. WHIR

I would not make this deal. I understand your concerns with Barber, but like you mentioned you will have too steep of a drop off at WR. Even though he is awesome, for what its worth DeAngelo has a tough remaining schedule, Dallas' have a few more better matchups especially with WAS in the championship game.

The trade is even. Williams is better than Barber, but Colston is better than Sims-Walker. You're downgrading at WR, but upgrading at RB. If you're confident in your remaining WR, and are ok with the drop-off from Colston to Sims-Walker, then make the trade.

I would make this trade. Williams does have a tough schedule and not so great matchups in the playoffs, but he is still a huge upgrade from Barber. I like Barber, but the quad injury is a huge concern. He may not be himself for much of the rest of the season and on top of that he shares the backfield with Jones who has to get touches when he is health and Choice who has outproduced him lately and should get touches the rest of the way. Williams is a stud. I would not be shocked if he picks it up even with the tough schedule.

Colston to Sims-Walker is definitaly a downgrade, but maybe not such a bad one. Sims-Walker has been very solid sense he emerged and no reason to doubt continued production. He is getting lots of targets (more than Colston on average) and is a big WR that should see more red zone targets the rest of the way.

Bottom line:
You trade Barbers 9 ppg for Williams 16 ppg: 7 point swing in your starting line up
You trade Colston's 13 ppg for Sims-Walkers 10 ppg: -3 point swing in your starting line up

I like this trade a lot after looking at the numbers! Pull the trigger.
