Team A wants to upgrade at RB by going after Cedric Benson. Team A would give up LT and Driver (an underperforming RB with potential and an overperforming WR), and Team B would give up Benson (a way overperforming RB).
TEAM A QB - Tony Romo, David Garrad WR - Randy Moss (Bye Wk8), Roddy White, Donald Driver, Miles Austin, Steve Smith (Car) RB - LaDanian Tomlinson, Marshawn Lynch, Rashard Mendenhall (Bye Wk8) Correll Buckhalter, Beanie Wells TE - Brent Celek, Vernon Davis D/ST - Broncos K - Lawrence Tynes
TEAM B QB - Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger (Bye Wk8), Eli Manning RB - Cedric Benson (Bye Wk8), Frank Gore, Steven Jackson, Kevin Smith, Larry Johnson (Bye, Wk8) WR - Dwayne Bowe (Bye Wk8), Nate Burleson, Austin Collie, Lee Evans TE - Zach Miller, John Carlson D/ST - Saints K - David Akers
This seems fair to me, but I'm not sure. Team B has lots of solid RB depth with Benson, Gore, Jackson and Smith, but is weak at WR with Bowe, Burelson, Collie and Evans, Team A is stocked at WR, and had decent RBs already, but could use an upgrade. Thoughts? WHIR!
I would make this trade if I was team B. I think Driver has shown enough this year and team B could use another WR. Well said about LT, there is potential for some nice games, plus team B has some other options for those tough matchups LT may have. Other than the TD issue SJAX is a good play and Gore has a nice schedule.
Well, I'm Team A. I was hoping the deal was mostly even and I was willing to take a little hit on my roster for the upgrade at RB. Going forward I would love to have Benson and Mendenhall as my starters with Lynch as a possible flex/backup. I am set at WR with Moss, White and Austin. My bench after that isn't really that bad in PPR with Buckhalter, Wells and Smith (Car).
I'm hoping the guy feels like he's getting the better end of the deal and says yes. I have not been impressed with LT this year, and seeing as how he was my #1 pick, I'm likely 2-5 because of him. So, I'm hoping his Oakland matchup this week is enough to entice the Team B owner to pull the trigger. Maybe LT goes off this week and puts up a ton of points, but maybe not. He didn't do anything special week 1 against them. Driver is arguably less valuable than Austin, so I'm happy in letting him go. I have a feeling that once the Packers get their O-line troubles fixed and can get Jennings going, Driver's value will plummet. So, call it a gut feeling, but I don't feel like I'm giving up that much in trading away LT and Driver, but I would be getting the #4 ranked RB in Benson (in PPR). To me it appears even, and it seems like a win/win for both of us too. Let's hope the guy agrees!
I love Benson this year so if I'm team A I'm making that deal. Driver can't keep this up, Jennings is gonna heat up (he better I own him in both leagues)
Well, Team B declined the offer...not sure why. Although I've tried making trades with nearly everyone in the league thus far, and was only able to make a trade with 1 person (and that has been the only trade in the entire league). It's not been a very trade friendly league.
