My Welker/Manningham for his Fitzgerald

Postby JrcWy » Fri Oct 30, 2009 8:28 pm

Yahoo standard scoring -NON PPR 12 team league. Playoffs week 15-17.

I start 3 of the following each week...

Welker
Mason
SimsWalker
Lee Evans
Mannigham
Massaquoi

I think this gives me an upgrade for y 3 starters in the playoffs (Fitz, MSW, & Mason). Mannigham is likely my best alternate at the time but Lee Evans seems to have some chemistry with Fitpatrick and Massaquoi has a soft playoff schedue compare to Manningham's tough matchups. Agree or Disagree?

i would do this deal welker is consistently good for about 70-100 yards but doesn't find the endzone s much as fitzy will and fitzy is capable of blowing up each week i would sacrifice depth at this point and make the deal

Hmm, I'd probably do it too. Welker is a stud this season too. Thing about manningham is you never know who's going to have the big game in NY. Fitzy is awesome and an every week start. You only have Mario on your bench and wont start him more than a couple times. So basically its LF vs WW on an every week basis and Fitzy is gonna outscore Welker.

So long story longer, make the deal.

I would take the deal although its not a no-brainer.
You could start Fitz, Mason, and SimsWalker now, and when the playoffs come around you can start whoewver has hot hands then. Because you have good depth

I think for the playoffs you want to stick with straight up studs vs looking for hot hands with good depth. Thats my own opinion.

Also, Manningham is losing reps to Hakeem Nicks in NY. I wouldnt want to keep him, then start him based on a good matchup down the stretch when wins are important only to have him get a goose egg cause steve smith or Nicks had the big game.

Dont get me wrong. I like Welker and Manningham. Actually traded FOR welker in one league. But to get Fitzgerald is a risk you probably should take.

Even if you dont make the trade, you've got good WRs
