Late night trade- felt good about it then, not sure now

Postby grandpa » Sat Oct 31, 2009 6:56 pm

Late night trade last night (if you know what I mean). Did I blow it? I'm 6-1 but 7th in scoring only- been winning lucky.

I gave MJD, Jennings, and Cutler and I got Schaub, Slaton, and DeSean.

In my league DeSean is the #1 WR and has 41 more points then Jennings. Slaton, if you take away the first 2 weeks when he struggled, is the 2nd RB in my league, 5 pts behind MJD in those weeks and 21 pts behind him for the entire year. And, Schaub is having a monster year and has 60 more pts. then Cutler.

Houstons schedule is sooo easy down the stretch too.

This is a keeper as well and MJD and Slaton are both free to keep, and so is DeSean.

Thoughts and WHIR.

I think you got the short end on this one.

MJD vs Slaton You lose there
Schaub vs Cutler Push
Jennings vs Jackson maybe a slight edge to Jackson on play to date. He is very up and down.

Overall I think you lost. If you were to trade MJD you needed more upside coming back your way. Should have waited until you were more awake before making this deal.

Yeah MJD is better than slaton and also has a way better SoS for weeks 8-13 (Rest of the season for Fantasy) and Weeks 14-17 (Fantasy Playoffs).
Cutler has a better SoS than Schaub but Schaub is a better player IMO. So this is probably a push.
Similarly, Jenning's numbers are down and he also has a awesome SoS coming up, DeSean Jackson has been way better so far. Id probably give edge to Jackson.

Overall I feel like its pretty even, but if I had to be on either side, I would of picked up MJD.

I'd also like to know why you think houston's schedule is so easy for passing?

8) BUF (Hard)
9) IND (Hard)
10) BYE (Pointless)
11) TEN (Easy)
12) IND (Hard)
13) JAC (Kinda Easy)
14) SEA (Kinda Hard)
15) STL (Average)
16) MIA (Average)
17) NE (Hard)

I disagree with most of the people here on specific points -- Schaub is way better than Cutler, and DJax is better than Jennings (who's having a pretty crappy year). But I agree with the broader point that it's a bad trade because MJD is a stud, and you don't give up someone like him unless you're getting a boatload of talent.
