Up by 3 points and we each have two guys - who wins?

Postby WaCougMBS » Mon Nov 02, 2009 2:37 am

So, after Forte and Kevin Smith left all sorts of points on the table in the fourth quarters of their respective games, and Steven Jackson went nuts and got my opponent a bonus 11-12 points at the end of the Lions game, I only have a lead of 3 points going into tomorrow night's games. I have Matt Ryan and Tony Gonzalez left and he has Marques Colston and Mike Bell - with standard scoring and 6 point TDs for QBs, who wins this one? Thanks for your input (it'll make me fret less either way tomorrow) and WHIR as always ;-D

12 Team Fanball league using team QBs and .25 PPR (standard scoring otherwise). Start - QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, K, D/ST.

My starters:
QB - Falcons (Ryan)
RB - Forte, Kevin Smith
WR - AJ, S.Rice
TE - Gonzalez
K - Tynes
D/ST - Broncos
Overtime - R. Rice

My bench:
QB - Bengals (Palmer)
RB - Maroney, D. Brown
WR - Welker, Boldin

I think you got this one. With Mike Bell, Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush all fighting for playing time this is in your favor IMO. Gonzales is due for a good game and Ryan and the Falcons should be playing from behind most of the game so I expect nice numbers from Ryan. Colson is the key to your victory, keep him out of the end zone with modest numbers and you win this one IMO. Good Luck.

I have one for you involving Colson. I’m down 12, my opponent is finished and I have Colston going tonight. This is a PPR league, 1 point per reception, 1 point every 10 yards, 6 points per TD. I’m hoping for 6 receptions 70 yards but I could see Colston being doubled all game and being held to 3 receptions and 35 yards, this will be fun to watch.

I like your chances as well. The one positive you have is your two players won't be competing for touchdowns. Brees likes to spread it around so I think a solid game from Ryan would likely give you the win.

If you get a chance, what do you think about my MNF matchup viewtopic.php?t=458989

Well,, I believe that you took this one, but barely. I'm generally not a fan of Ryan but at least he has Gonzo. ;-D

Thanks for the responses guys! I pulled out a 6 point win ;-D

Sorry I was AWOL and couldn't respond to your questions last night - something came up and I wasn't really around to even watch the game :-/
