Drop Garrard? Drop Wells? WHIR

Postby tuckyou » Mon Nov 02, 2009 1:03 pm

So, after David Garrard's abysmal performance yesterday, is it even worth keeping him around? I see he's getting dropped all over the place. Is this the smart move. FYI, I have Culter at QB currently.

Also, I grabbed Beanie Wells to start as RB2 against Carolina, and he was pretty quiet. Again, is there any use in keeping him around or can I safely drop him too? In other words, do you see him getting an increased role anytime soon? For what it's worth, I currently have MJD, Ryan Grant, and Mendenhall.

As for what to use the spots for, I can either pick up Denver's D (who did look like crap against Baltimore, but could bounce back), Vince Young, Ryan Moats, LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin, Malcolm Floyd, Maurice Morris, Jonathan Stewart (again), and a few deeper sleeper options.

So, what do you suggest? Let me know what you think, leave a link, and I'll return the favor.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I stream pretty deep at WR, with Reggie Wayne, VJax, Deshaun Jackson, Donald Driver, and Santonio Holmes.

I'de rather keep Wells, and drop Garrard. He's crap. I had him in 2 of my leagues as backup and dropped him early in the year in both leagues, and I havn't regretted it. Beanie on the other hand, I'm holding on to for a couple more weeks. He's beginning to see more work, so it's only a matter of time before he breaks out. I'de try to pickup a backup QB incase Cutler gets hurt, so someone like Alex Smith would be a good pickup.

From the list you had for pickups, its tough to tell who to get becasue I don't know where your team is strong/weak. But ones that stand out to me are Vince Young, Denver's D, McCoy, Ryan Moats. But it doesn't sound like you need a RB, so someone like Maclin might be more valuable to you.

I'd say dropping Garrard depends on how deep the QB waiver wire normally is. If there are decent enough injury fill-ins (Henne, Cassel, etc) then drop him. But, if you're looking at guys like Vick and Kitna as the only options, I'd just stash him.

For the other, I like McCoy (WB can't stay healthy), Moats (although Slaton could be the #1 again), and Stewart.

Thanks for the help on mine.

I think you need to flip a coin but definitely get rid of one and grab Moats as fast as you can. who knows where it could go. I'm sure that HOU. is tired of Slaton's fumbling!

Drop Garrard and stick with Wells. God, Garrard has pissed me off recently. How can he be so putrid against the Rams and Titans? :-? :-t

I would drop Garrard and pick up Moats. Garrard looks awful and you should be fine with Cutler at QB.

Thanks for the help on mine!!

Drop Garrard. I doubt the other free agent options are that much worse. If you needed another QB, you're probably better off grabbing someone based on matchups anyways. (Grab Moats or Jonathan Stewart.)

Thanks for the help, guys, I dropped Garrard and put in a claim for Moats. Regarding a QB, would there be any reason to grab and stash Vince Young, or is that really stupid?
