Sleepers for the win

Postby 2centworth » Mon Nov 02, 2009 2:55 pm

Seems to me that picking-up a sleeper for the end of year makes all the world of difference in winning. From Mark Clayton in '05 to Pierre Thomas last year, getting someone with fresh legs who can produce is invaluable. I'm interested in everyone's take on which players to keep an eye on. Here's my list in no particular order:

Michael Crabtree
Fred Davis
Kolby Smith
Steve Breaston
David Anderson
Malcolm Floyd
Brandon Jackson

Right off the bat, Breston's no sleeper... he's easily the BEST #3 WR and with Boldin hobbling recently, he's in line for WR #2 on a pass-happy Cards team. In fact, I believe Breston vs Boldin in terms of FF points YTD are nearly equal. (I've actually started Breston many a times this year with better than expected results)

Crabtree could be ok... I don't know about Fred Davis, I know Cooley's done but the Skins offense is in such dissarray I doubt Davis is a one for one plug for Cooley.

Go Charles first, then Kolby Smith... but both play in KC but will get their touches.

I agree with your second half studs leading the way to titles - last year I got lcuky with both DeAngelo and Pierre... this year I got Miles Austin early and hope he does good next several weeks.
Schaub / MJD / SJax / MBIII / Austin / Gonzo / Eagles D / Misc Waiver Pickups (7-1, 12-team PPR) ... * 2x Defending Champs *

as far as breaston, no longer a major sleeper with boldin dinged, but you could have gotten him for next to nothing a couple of weeks ago. I own him too.

other than that, please add to the list of names.

i picked him up before the season, but i think justin forsett has a chance. jj continues to underwhelm, and i think forsett could turn into a hightower-type threat, although he might only have good value for PPR leagues.

This week I would look at Sammy Stroughter (WR, TB)

If you need a bye week starter or aren't thrilled about one of your WRs this week. Read up and thank me later.
