Trade Help: Involves Randy Moss/Tony Romo, WHIR

Currently, I'm 4-4 with an outside shot at making the playoffs. We keep two players. We start, QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, DEF, K ... standard scoring, passing td's worth 6 pts. Trade deadline is Saturday.

The team offering me the trade is 6-2 and will make the playoffs. He really wants Moss to solidify his WR corp (he also has V-Jack, Miles, Cotchery). He also has Brady and Favre, so he can afford to give away Romo.

My Current Roster:
QB: Warner, Hasselbeck
RB: Brown, Bradshaw, Sproles, McCoy, Bush
WR: R Moss, Steve Smith (CAR), R. Williams, Collie, Henry, Malcom Floyd
TE: Winslow
K: Tynes
DEF: Colts

Randy Moss cannot be kept, but Hester can be kept for a 12th rounder next year. So basically is the upgrade to Romo from Warner/Hass good enough to counter to downgrade in WR from Moss to Hester/Housh ?

I have to admit, I've never done a keeper league, so it's tough from that perspective. If you want to make the playoffs this year, I would stay put. I'm not sure the upgrade to QB makes up the loss in WR. But if you get a benefit for next year, that might make it worth the risk. Sorry I can't be more definitive, but it boils down to what are your chances for making the playoffs this year?

I am a big fan of Moss, and if your in a keeper league and you can't keep him, to me the trade doesnt make sense. With your QB thier doing decent so far and Moss is putting great numbers. I would stay put or try to counter Romo for another of your recievers.

I agree that this is a complex & interesting situation. The only thing that makes me consider you doing this trade is the fact that Hester can be kept and Moss cannot. In the end, I would not do the trade b.c of the chance you might still make the playoffs this year. If you were 2-6, I would say go for it.

i wouldn't do this deal. i think moss is going to net you more pts than the updgrade to Romo, will. the housh and hester thing....nothing spectacular imo. i think i'd stay with randy for this year if you intend to make a run at the playoffs.

I wouldn't view Romo as a sure upgrade over Warner. Also, would you really start Hester over your other WRs? This does not look like a trade I would do. In my opinion you are selling low, and buying high with this trade.
