Alex Smith/Lee Evans for Hines Ward....WHIR

Postby Hoosierdad » Wed Nov 04, 2009 9:11 am

12 team league that starts 2 QBs and 3 WRS (in addition to other positions that don't matter for this trade). My QBs and WRS are:

QBs: Scaub, Cutler, and Smith
WRs: Wayne, Steve Smith (Carolina), Breaston, Evans, N. Washington

Another team has been hit hard by injuries and benchings with his QBs so he basically starts Edwards/Fitzpatrick. He has inquired about getting Smith. His WRs are:

WRs: Ward, Austin, Burleson, 85, and Bryant Johnson

He hasn't offered anything yet, so I was thinking Smith/Evans for Ward. Remeber, we play 2 QBs so while Smith may not seem like a lot, he will be choosing between Smith and Edwards the rest of the year. I'm actually worried I may be giving up too much, but I'm concerned about my WRs some.

Leave a link.
12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring
QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins
RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim
WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green,
TE: Hernandez, Cook

Yes, I would make that trade offer. Sure, you are helping him out a lot in getting a better QB to start, but you will never have to play Smith anyway, and he is helping you out a lot at WR. Go for it.

Please help me with mine:

I like the idea of you making a trade, but you might try to get Austin first ... then if he rejects, go for Ward.

Thanks for your help on mine.

I would NOT do that trade or trade away Smith unless you get very high quality in return. Evans for Ward isn't enough ... in a 2-QB league with 12 teams (I'm talking from experience), you're screwed if one of your starting QBs gets hurt and you end up having to start J Russel or the TB QB because all the other QBs are taken.

I think you can afford to do that & Ward is a major upgrade over Evans

I would shoot for Ochocinco first. Ward could also be worth it - but I would try to get one of his QBs back in that deal as well for insurance.

help?

Aim higher first...Ochocinco, Austin and then try for Ward. Good luck!

I'd try and get OchoCinco first... then counter with Ward.

Thanks for your help on mine.

I agree with what everyone else has said. It's a good move as long as your QBs stay healthy. You could try to get one of his QBs as insurance but I don't know if either would really be worth it over who you could pick up.

I think I'd ignore getting a backup QB and try for Ochocinco, then Austin before settling on Ward.
